Many parameters are dynamic meaning that changes take effect immediately; however,<br />

changes to some parameters may require stopping and starting the instance. From the<br />

Command Line, this can be done using the db2stop and db2start commands.<br />

Before an instance can be stopped, all applications must disconnect. If you wish to<br />

forcefully stop the instance, you can use the db2stop force command.<br />

An instance can also be stopped through the Control Center by clicking on the instance<br />

object and selecting either Stop or Start.<br />

Table 4.3 shows some useful commands to manage the dbm cfg from the Command Line.<br />
