RTL Belgium renews its news commitment to <strong>EVS</strong><br />
The complete interoperability<br />
between RTL’s news and studio<br />
operations was our end goal from the<br />
start. The success of the project has<br />
been the result of a long-term<br />
collaboration with <strong>EVS</strong>.<br />
From a small project in 2004 aimed at<br />
optimising media interchange, we’ve<br />
now implemented a complete tapeless<br />
HD infrastructure for news and<br />
entertainment operations around <strong>EVS</strong>.<br />

Why: Following the successful implementation of a<br />
tapeless production workflow based on <strong>EVS</strong> technology<br />
for its news operations, RTL Belgium chose <strong>EVS</strong>’<br />
solutions once again to help it fulfil its desire to create<br />
a fully integrated tapeless HD infrastructure for its<br />
news and TV entertainment operations.<br />
How: Supported by <strong>EVS</strong>’ central news solution, RTL<br />
Belgium has implemented a fully integrated HD<br />
production infrastructure – from acquisition and<br />
production to media management and playout.<br />
Result: With an enhanced production workflow between RTL Belgium’s news, field and in-house<br />
studios operations, the new tapeless HD-based production infrastructure has enabled RTL Belgium<br />
to offer viewers the full benefits of HD - delivering breaking news and live entertainment without<br />
delay. Journalists can now work on news pieces independently and easily edit using <strong>EVS</strong>’ editing<br />
tools, meaning news pieces can be worked on right up to the last minute, with RTL providing the<br />
hottest stories for its viewers.
