Winter Nights & Holiday Lights featuring<br />

TubaChristmas<br />

You can feel the magic in the air in Estherville<br />

at Winter Nights & Holiday Lights. From<br />

5-7 p.m. in Downtown Estherville there will be<br />

horse-drawn wagon rides through downtown<br />

to look at all the beautiful lights, carolers, Santa<br />

and tubas playing your favorite Christmas<br />

tunes.<br />

Santa’s House will be open for the first time<br />

all year and kids of all ages can go in and meet<br />

him.<br />

TubaChristmas will have two shows including<br />

one at 6 p.m. at the Methodist Chruch<br />

and a grand finale at 7 p.m. in the Estherville<br />

Library where they will come together with<br />

carolers from the Many Voices Choir to have a<br />

sing-along with the entire community.<br />

Hull is having a special Christmas<br />

concert.<br />

Bauer and Love & The Outcome<br />

Different Kind of Christmas” onstage<br />

Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at<br />

Western Christian High School.<br />

Mark Schultz is a contemporary<br />

Christian music artist, who has<br />

been nominated for a number of<br />

Dove Awards. Jon Bauer also plays<br />

contemporary Christan music<br />

and performs 100 concerts each<br />

year.<br />

Love & The Outcome is a husband<br />

and wife duo who play<br />

contemporary Christian pop rock.<br />

They released their first album in<br />

2013.<br />

Systolic Studio’s December Art<br />

and Antique Sale<br />

Systolic Studio in Lake Park, IA, will host its first Art and COST: Free<br />

Antique Sale, Dec. 4-6. Many local artists will exhibit work in CONTACT: 515-451-7933<br />

this show, including Diane Dykema, Dennis Dykema, Danielle<br />

Clouse Gast, Hank Hall, Bruce Morrison, Anita K. Plucker,<br />

Daniel Ruf, David Strom, Paula Streeter, Holly Zinn. Also participating are a number of artists<br />

from around the state, including furniture maker Chris Martin, as well as Molly Nagel, Chuck<br />

Richards, Reiko Cunningham, Celinda Stamy, Nancy Thompson and Barbara Walton. The show<br />

is organized by Paula Streeter, lecturer at Iowa State University.<br />

The artwork will be installed alongside fine antiques and furnishings available for purchase in<br />

the building’s recently renovated west wing Gallery space.<br />

Doors will open at the west entrance at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. Hours for the show are 3–8 p.m.<br />

Friday; 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday.<br />

Christmas Vespers<br />

The Northwestern College music department will present<br />

its annual Christmas Vespers service on Saturday, Dec. 5, at<br />

7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The<br />

event is free and open to the public.<br />

“This year’s theme is ‘Night of Wonder,’ and will focus on<br />

the idea that on that night, the creator of the universe was<br />

lying in a stall and surrounded by lowly animals,” said Dr.<br />

the greatest king of all had a most humble birth.”<br />

The concert will include performances by the Brass Choir, Women’s Choir, a Cappella Choir,<br />

Chamber Orchestra and Handbell Choir, in addition to Scripture readings by Northwestern students.<br />

The concert will close with candle lighting.<br />

“The Vespers program actually combines elements of a concert with a service, as the entire<br />

evening focuses on the Christ child and his arrival,” said Holm.<br />

Throughout the concert, the audience will also be invited to sing a variety of Christmas carols,<br />

including “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Away in a Manger,” “Silent Night” and “Joy to the World.”
