GRADING<br />
� All apprenticeship training program participants must attain a 70% final grade to get course credit for<br />
any year's related instruction program. Quarterly grades during the school year will be averaged to<br />
calculate a final grade.<br />
� All review questions, quizzes, workbook exercises or homework assignments (where utilized) will<br />
count for 25% of a student’s grade.<br />
� Any graded review questions, quizzes, workbook exercises or homework assignments missed by a<br />
student will be marked “incomplete”. It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements with<br />
the instructor to have the work completed; these arrangements must be initiated within two weeks of<br />
the original test date.<br />
� End of Module Exams (where utilized) will count for 75% of a student’s grade and require a 70%<br />
passing grade for course credit. Retests and missed exams must be scheduled within two weeks of the<br />
original test date and must be made up on a non-class night. The highest score that can be awarded on a<br />
retest is 75%.<br />
� All grades are to be based on course content knowledge only, no skill or hands-on grading during lab<br />
learning experiences is to be utilized.<br />
CHEATING<br />
Students who are observed cheating will be disenrolled from the <strong>Sussex</strong> Tech Adult Division.<br />
CLASS TIMES & BREAKS<br />
A school session is 3 hours (180) minutes. Classes are scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Breaks are to be<br />
coordinated by the trade instructor and are not to exceed 15 minutes. Under no circumstances is food or<br />
beverages (except water) to be brought into the classrooms.<br />
NOTE: If an instructor is delayed getting to class, students must remain in class and contact the Adult<br />
Education office at X 1527, or X 1439 on the classroom phone.<br />
SHOP SAFETY<br />
All students must wear safety glasses when in the area of any laboratory or shop activity even if not personally<br />
performing a shop activity.<br />
CELL PHONES/BEEPERS/WALKIE-TALKIES<br />
All are considered disruptions in the classrooms. Students are not allowed to have cell phones or beepers on<br />
during class.<br />
