OBITUARIES<br />
These Lions of our Multiple District have recently left us. We honour their memory and<br />
the contribution they made in their Lionistic service for the good of others.<br />
BACON: Lion Percy (94)<br />
Harleston Lions Club. It is with deep<br />
sadness that we announce the passing<br />
away of aCharter Member after along<br />
illness. Percy gave along and loyal service<br />
over many years to Lionism.<br />
HHH<br />
BRADLEY: Lion Trevor<br />
Taverham &District Lions Club. Trevor<br />
joined the Club in 1991 and resigned in<br />
good standing in August 2011. He served<br />
atotal of 9years as secretary, aswell as<br />
serving on the Lions Youth Centre<br />
Committee. Hehas also served as a<br />
Club Director, Constitution officer,<br />
Projects Chairman and Club Safety and<br />
LCIF officer.<br />

CAUDWELL: Lion Selwyn ‘Sam’ (73)<br />
Sam joined the Lions Club of Tavistock in<br />
1992 after retiring from farming. During<br />
his time with the Club he held the roles of<br />
Catering Officer, Community Services<br />
Chairman, Membership Chairman and<br />
Equipment Officer. Hewas always onhand<br />
with his car and trailer to transport<br />
marquees and barbecues to the Club’s<br />
various events. He will be greatly missed.<br />

CHAPMAN: Lion Ian A.E. (86) MJF<br />
Garstang &District Lions Club. Lion Ian<br />
first joined the organisation in Maidstone,<br />
Kent and transferred to the Garstang Club<br />
in 1980. He was awarded an MJF in<br />
1993/94 and presented with aglass<br />
sculpture on attaining 50 years’ service.<br />
Ian had awonderful sense of humour, a<br />
twinkle in his eye and just the right witty<br />
remark when the need arose!<br />

CHURCH: Lion Jack Bryan<br />
Radstock and Midsomer Norton Lions Club<br />
report the passing of Lion Jack amember<br />
of the Club for the past 34 years. Akeen<br />
and enthusiastic member, Lion Jack served<br />
on all Club Committees aswell as Club<br />
President 1990-1991. He will be sadly<br />
missed and our sympathy goes out to his<br />
daughter Louise and her family.<br />
COOPER: Lion Reginald T. (80) MJF<br />
Cockermouth Lions Club. Past President<br />
Lion Reg dedicated 35 years of service to the<br />
Club. Hewas always available for all Club<br />
activities: hewas afounder group member<br />
of the fund raising party for our Swimming<br />
Pool action group and Speakers Club and<br />
Past President of the Cockermouth Probus<br />
Club. Our thoughts are with Nora and family.<br />

DIXON: Lion Jonathan<br />
Tenterden Lions Club is deeply shocked to<br />
announce the death of Lion Jon. Although a<br />
member of this Club for only two years his<br />
success in Service and Fundraising was<br />
outstanding. With acharming and friendly<br />
personality hewas the epitome of aLion and<br />
will be sadly missed by all.<br />

FARRER: Lion Dave (76)<br />
Ashbourne and District Lions Club. Lion Dave<br />
was awell-respected Lion since 1979 when<br />
he joined Fakenham Club, Norfolk. He<br />
moved toMatlock Lions in 1982 and helped<br />
set up Ashbourne Lions in 1986. Over the<br />
years, Dave had carried out many key officer<br />
roles, including Zone Chairman and<br />
President. Club and zone members are<br />
saddened byhis passing.<br />

FUNNELL: Lion Andrew (68) MJF<br />
Calne Lions is sad to report the death of Lion<br />
Andy after 12 years of illness bravely borne.<br />
Amember for 27 years, he was President<br />
twice and Secretary for many years. Always<br />
active, hewill be sadly missed. We would<br />
like tooffer our hearty condolences tohis<br />
wife and son.<br />

GANE: Lion David (80) MJF<br />
Northampton Eighty Lions Club. ALion for<br />
37 years, David had served as President<br />
three times and as Zone Chairman in<br />
1992/3. He worked tirelessly raising funds<br />
and organised the Club’s annual charity golf<br />
day for more than 25years. He was<br />
abig man with abig heart who will be<br />
sadly missed.<br />

GARDNER: PDG Lion George (84) MJF<br />
Lions Club of Clacton on Sea. During his 36<br />
years as aLion and aCharter member of the<br />
Club, George had held many key positions<br />
including Club President and Secretary. He<br />
had also served as Zone Chairman, Sergeant<br />
at Arms, Convention Chairman, Deputy<br />
District Governor and District Governor<br />
105EA. In November 2014 he was made a<br />
Life Member.<br />

GIBBS: Lion Eric (95)<br />
The Harlow Lions Club regret to announce<br />
the passing of Lion Eric. He had been a<br />
member of Harlow Lions Club since shortly<br />
after the Club was chartered.<br />
GREEN: Lion Charles<br />

Dereham Lions Club. With deep regret we<br />
announce the death of Lion Charles Green of<br />
Dereham Lions Club whilst on holiday.<br />

HAINES: PDG Lion Howell (89) MJF<br />
Hereford Lions Club. Afounder member of<br />
Hereford Lions Club in 1960, Lion Howell rose<br />
through the ranks to be District Governor<br />
105W, Chairman of the Council of Governors<br />
and National Treasurer. Hewill be<br />
remembered as an expert on the Lions<br />
International Constitution and arespected<br />
mentor tonew members.<br />

HALLIDAY: Lion Jenny<br />
Little Orme Lions Club is greatly saddened by<br />
the passing of founder member Lion Jenny<br />
Halliday earlier this year. She had true Lion<br />
values; always willing to serve and showed<br />
understanding and kindness to everyone she<br />
met. Abeautiful lady who is sadly missed.<br />
