SIMS schools can readily compare outcomes to help benchmark their success against other schools nationally (stand B190). Frog Education FrogProgress enables teachers to assess the progress of every pupil, setting them personal targets mapped against their expected attainment progress. The tool enables teachers to inform student feedback by including evidence of “what good looks like”. By referencing assessment examples, student understanding increases and the evidence can be used to promote best practice in assessment across the whole school (stand D140). TestWe TestWe is an “e-exam” solution which pledges a 100 per cent secure e-exam. It gives educational institutions the opportunity to design their own exams and assessments on digital support. Examiners can create any type of exams or assessments they want and students can take the exam on their own device in a secure environment (stand C88). Hyperspheric Solutions Among its products, GO 4 Schools is offering a schools-based Assessment Scheme ready to set up for life after levels. Schools can set up customised grading schemes and link to average points scores and the new numeric points system to build an internal grading scheme (stand F310). bksb bksb develops e-learning solutions to improve English, maths and ICT skills. Its products offer data to evidence learner progress in line with Ofsted requirements and are designed in line with GCSE and Functional Skills criteria (stand B228). MyCognition MyCQ is an assessment tool that can be self-administered. It measures five domains of cognition: attention, processing speed, calculating and problem-solving, memory, and planning and strategy. This insight is intended to give teachers and parents a better understanding of a child’s cognitive strengths and any weaknesses that may impede learning (stand SN5). Renaissance Learning Renaissance Learning provides cloud-based assessments to primary and secondary schools. Its Accelerated Reader programme is used in more than 4,000 schools across the UK and Ireland to motivate children of all ages and abilities to read for pleasure, while STAR Assessments incorporate Learning Progressions developed in collaboration with the National Foundation for Educational Research (stand B50). ClassroomMonitor Classroom Monitor was designed to streamline the way schools record, track and manage pupil assessment data. It provides in-depth analysis on pupil and wholeschool performance. It includes the Online Formative Assessment Markbooks and new this year is the Classroom Monitor Teacher App (stand B238). Televic Education Among Televic’s products is the Edumatic Platform, a web-based authoring tool to create structure, and deliver online assessments (stand H80). Learn Live CPD Assessment will also form a part of the Learn Live CPD sessions on offer at Bett. Just one example is the session entitled Closing the achievement gap: linking formative assessment and instruction, which will be presented by director of professional development Sally L’Anson and Lorrain Lange, chief academic officer for interactive achievement – both from Hollins University in America. They will focus on assessment reports, offering insight into how we can identify which areas of the curriculum children are secure in and where the gaps are. Learn how US schools are approaching the integration of curriculum-aligned formative assessment into their classrooms and the results they are seeing.
