BETTER BRAKING.
GIAC Stage 2 flash (Performed by Forge Motorsport)
With the intake/exhaust mods, and especially the GIAC Stage 2 flash, the MK6 GTI
makes about 100hp over stock. With such horsepower improvements, you get to a
point where you need to reconsider the OEM braking system.
In this case, the GTIs come with a well performing brake system from the factory. We
don’t need to spend all our coin on a custom big brake kit. But we did need a better
grabbing system, with the ability to hold/handle more heat.
The plan of attack is pretty simple… and proven. DBA street rotors. Hawk street
pads. And Stoptech stainless steel brake lines. All of which are direct replacement
parts. DBA rotors used with Hawk pads are known to work very well together. And
I’m pretty damn confident that you’ll be stoked at the improvement & consistency
you’ll see in replacing the OEM stuff with quality performance rotors, pads, and hard
lines. Truth is: you don’t need a big break kit to have good breaking. You just need a
solid group of performance-engineered products that work well together.
