ACC MEN’s BASKETBALL
ACC Legends
The ACC Tournament continues to embrace the history of men’s
basketball in the conference with the Legends program. The class
of ACC Men’s Basketball Legends was honored at the Legends’
Luncheon on Friday, March 13 and then introduced at halftime of
the first semifinal game.

Following Syracuse’s self-imposed postseason ban, Derrick Coleman requested
that his participation in the ACC Legends program be delayed. Derrick’s decision
has the full support of the Syracuse administration; and therefore, they did not
have a representative in the 2015 ACC Men’s Basketball Legends Class.
New York Life ACC Tournament
• The Atlantic Coast Conference, along with its
Official Corporate Champions, hosted the annual
ACC FanFest event in conjunction with the 2015
New York Life ACC Tournament at the Greensboro
Coliseum. ACC FanFest was held in and around the
30,000-square-foot Pavilion adjacent to the main
entrance of the Greensboro Coliseum. The free event
featured ACC Corporate Champion attractions, live
entertainment, appearances by the ACC mascots,
an interactive sport court, an ACC Trivia game
show, free face painting, food/drinks, an official
Tournament merchandise store, interactive games
and novelty stations, daily giveaways, ACC Legends
autograph signing, and fun for the entire family.
• The ACC mascots visited Northern Guilford Middle
School on Thursday, March 12. During the visit,
children had the opportunity to interact with the
mascots at a pep rally.
• The ACC once again collaborated with Wounded
Warrior Project® (WWP) to invite WWP injured
service members and their guests to the game. The
twenty invited Warriors and family members had
VIP hospitality at FanFest and Championship Game
tickets. In addition, two of these heroes took part in
a special pregame ceremony on the court, while the
colors were presented by the Air Force Reserves.
• The ACC continued an initiative to recognize local
Teachers of the Year, by inviting them to ACC
Championship events. The Guilford County Schools 2015 Teacher of the Year
finalists and their guests were invited to attend the championship game of the
ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament.
ACC/BIG TEN Challenge
The ACC/Big Ten Challenge, one of the most anticipated events
on the college basketball calendar, provided national exposure for
the league on three-straight nights in early December across ESPN,
ESPN2, and ESPNU. The ACC leads the series 10-4-2; the ACC won
the first 10 consecutive challenges, while the Big Ten won the next
three. The following two challenges resulted in ties. The most recent
challenge was won by the Big Ten 8-6. In the 16 years of the event,
seven of the challenges have been decided by a single game.
