HIGHLIGHTS
Delabole’s 600-year-old slate quarry boasts the
largest man-made hole in Europe, which plunges
400 feet down into solid rock and measures a
mile and a half in circumference.
Messages and offerings are left on rock ledges at
the sixty-foot waterfall at St Nectan’s Glen, a place
of spiritual healing since pre-Christian times.
Fabulous views, rolling fairways and firm
greens all help to make St Enodoc near Rock
one of the finest links golf courses in the UK,
earning it the ranking of 55th in the world.
The five and a half mile stretch of the Camel Trail
between Wadebridge to Padstow is best enjoyed
by bike (available to hire at either end).
Climb the highest cliff in Cornwall near
the strangely named Strangles Beach
between Bude and Boscastle, towering
at an impressive 742 feet.
The award-winning Camel Valley Vineyard near
Wadebridge offers a fascinating tasting tour.
With its charming harbour and traditional
fisherman’s cottages, Boscastle’s setting is
hard to beat, while at Crackington Haven the
famous colourful chevron rock formations
start to appear creating a small cove. Near the
border with Devon, Bude combines spectacular
beaches, great surf and an attractive town to
form a welcoming seaside resort.
