From the Programme editor Hello everybody, I trust that you all had a rest over Christmas and the new year break. As we get older our wants for the new year change I suppose but for us football fans one thing that never changes is that we want our team to do well, and one of my hopes for the new year is that we do better in the cups, especially the FA Cup. To<strong>day</strong>’s game is a chance to progress in the league cup further than we have ever done before in the competition. Many of us remember the brilliant glow that we all had when we won the Kent Senior Cup, not so long ago, so lets hope that feeling can be replicated this season. It wont be easy though against a Corinthian- Casuals who are one of the best that they have had for many a season. Did anyone hear the name of our former manager Mark Beeney in a question of sport a couple of weeks ago, the question being who stood in for him in the Leeds United goal when he got sent off! And another bit of news from the Beeney front was that Mark’s son Mitchell, who I remember being born! has been let out on loan by Chelsea to Newport County so that he can get first team football. Talking of our ex personnel I see that Andy Drury is having a good season at Eastleigh in the National league for whom he has scored 6 goals so far. Eastleigh are the only non league club left in the FA Cup. Wishing you all a happy, prosperous and healthy new year.
