Steve Matai – Sea Eagles – CTR/Dale Copley – Roosters – CTR/WFB
These two have similar risks and rewards. They are both under-priced but to be a success you need
them to make a hot start or they could easily just make you $20 or $30k over the first month, at
which point you’ll run out of patience. Matai was ridiculously awful last season so he’s got lots of
room to bounce back, while Copely has a DPP which at least could numb some of the pain if he
stinks your team up.
Dallas Graham – Tigers – FRF
Graham is probably behind Jack Buchanan, but Buchanan is a mediocre talent. Grabbing a player
who is his side’s fourth FRF is definitely a risk, but Aaron Woods is the only big minute prop on the
Tigers’ roster so there could be some minutes to go around.
Tevita Pangai Junior – Raiders – 2RF
TPJ was an absolute weapon in NYC last season and would have averaged 58.35 in NYC fantasy
without factoring in tackle breaks. He’s off to the Broncos next season and Ricky Stuart probably
doesn’t look favourably on that. He’ll need to spend some time at front row to get game time as he
was primarily a second rower last season.
Suliasi Vunivalu – Storm – WFB
Vunivalu is only worth noting because he fits what Craig Bellamy likes from his wingers. If he can
replicate enough of what Marika Koroibete has done he could make some money.
David Bhana – Knights – 2RF
Bhana could end up getting a run while Tariq Sims is suspended. The suspension is long enough for
Bhana to make some money but he’ll need enough minutes or he could just score in the low 20’s.
