excellent production. The heart-shaped fruits are<br />

large (12 to 16 ounces), red, and have very good<br />

85 days, indeterminate — Fruits are 6 to 16<br />

ounces, red, globe to oblate shaped and tasty.<br />

Named to honor J.T. Dorrance, the man who<br />

developed Campbell’s soups. Very productive.<br />

90 days, determinate — Released by OSU in<br />

2003. The red fruits are mostly seedless, large and<br />

resistant to races of late blight. Adapted for areas<br />

with cooler weather.<br />

Linnie’s Oxheart (3402271) {CNG}<br />

97 days, indeterminate — Fruits are red, heartshaped,<br />

weighing 6 to 18 ounces. Introduced by<br />

"Big Red" from KY. He got the seeds from a<br />

neighbor, Linnie Sears. She had been growing this<br />

variety for years.<br />

Lvinoe Serdtse (3403001) {CNG}<br />

90 days, indeterminate — Russian variety whose<br />

name means "Lion's Heart." Plants are regular leaf<br />

with 4 to 12 ounce, red, oblate to slightly elongated<br />

fruits, some being pointed on the blossom end.<br />

Excellent slicer, also for canning.<br />

Louisiana Red (3401121) {CNG}<br />

90 days, indeterminate — Bred by C. W. Edgerton<br />

by crossing 'Louisiana Wilt Resistant' and<br />

‘Earliana’ and released in 1918. It is one of the<br />

early wilt resistant varieties. Fruits are red, slightly<br />

flattened globe shaped and weigh 3 to 14 ounces.<br />

Lutescent Long Red (3401841) {CNG}<br />

100 days, indeterminate — From Canada. Its<br />

foliage yellows as it matures, from the bottom of<br />

the plant up, similar to 'Honor Bright'. The fruits are<br />

deep globed shaped, 4 to 11 ounces, and turn<br />

from a nearly white color to red at maturity.<br />

Ludmilla Red Plum (3402541) {CNG}<br />

80 days, indeterminate — Regular leaf plants, very<br />

productive with 6 to 10 ounce, red, plum-shaped<br />

fruits. Excellent flavor, meaty, few seeds. A good<br />

choice for fresh eating, canning or sauces.<br />

Mala Bishka (3402671) {CNG}<br />

90 days, semi-determinate — Compact, regular<br />

leaf plants produce red, 8 to 16 ounce, beefsteak<br />

type fruits. Excellent fresh eating quality and flavor.<br />

Malinovaya Grusha (3402361) {CNG}<br />

90 days, semi-determinate — The fruits are lovely,<br />

pear shaped, red and weigh from one to six<br />

ounces. A Russian variety.<br />

Marglobe (3400131}<br />

75 days, determinate — Developed by Fred<br />

Pritchard of the USDA. One of the first varieties<br />

with good resistance to Verticillium and Fusarium<br />

wilt. A parent to many newer tomato varieties.<br />

Fruits are red, smooth, solid, 6 ounce, crack<br />

resistant. Its earliness favored its adoption in the<br />

canning regions of the North. Released in 1925.<br />

Marmande (3402091) {CNG}<br />

65 days, semi-determinate — Prolific producer of<br />

medium-sized (up to 13 oz.), slightly ribbed oblate<br />

fruits that are red with an excellent flavor. Bred by<br />

Vilmorin Seed Co., and released about 1897.<br />

Marvana (3402891) {CNG}<br />

68 days, indeterminate — Regular leaf plants with<br />

red, globe to slightly elongated, 4 to 5 ounce fruits.<br />

Very early. Released in 1924.<br />

Matchless, Burpee’s (3400901) {CNG}<br />

85 days, indeterminate — A main crop variety with<br />

fruits that are red, flattened-globe in shape and<br />

about six ounces in weight. They are juicy, with a<br />

slightly sweet, mildly acid, good flavor. Released in<br />

1889 by W. Atlee Burpee.<br />

Matchum (3401261) {CNG}<br />

90 days, indeterminate — Productive, regular leaf<br />

plants with red, flattened globe shaped, 7 to 10<br />

ounce fruits. It was released by the Schell Seed<br />

Company in 1929.<br />

Maule's Success (3401451) {CNG}<br />

90 days, indeterminate — The red, oblate fruits<br />

range from 5 to 13 ounces and have a good, "red<br />

tomato" flavor. Released by William Henry Maule<br />

Seeds prior to 1907.<br />

McGee (3402001) {CNG}<br />

55 days, indeterminate — A really early variety.<br />

The fruits are one to three ounces, red, smoothskinned,<br />

and globe-shaped. They are mild, slightly<br />

tart with a good lingering aftertaste.<br />

Medford (3401861) {CNG}<br />

80 days, determinate — Introduced by Oregon<br />

State Univ. Early to medium-early depending on<br />

location. Fruit medium (6 to 13 ounces), uniform<br />

red color. Solid, good flavor and internal color.<br />
