ROBOT LAB <br />

Come and interact with robots<br />

from the Edinburgh Centre for<br />

Robotics. From an assembly line<br />

robot that wants to learn how to<br />

work with you, to cute football<br />

playing robots, learn about the<br />

many ways in which robots are<br />

trying to understand and imitate<br />

human beings.<br />

AGES 7+ WORKSHOP<br />

FANTASTIC PLASTIC!<br />

Plastics are everywhere but how<br />

do we make them, how do we<br />

use them and how do we get rid<br />

of them? Join chemists from The<br />

University of Edinburgh to find out.<br />

In this hands-on workshop you’ll<br />

become a scientist for an hour,<br />

have a go at some plastic making<br />

and breaking, conduct your own<br />

experiment and learn all about<br />

Fantastic Plastic! For ages 7–10,<br />

each ticket also admits one adult<br />

if desired.<br />

JUNKYARD CLUSTERS <br />

How often do we look inside a<br />

computer? How many of us can<br />

build a PC? Come join a team<br />

of friendly technicians from The<br />

University of Edinburgh to build a<br />

PC, plug it in, start it up and then<br />

make it work in a cluster (and find<br />

out what a cluster is!). Perfect for<br />

children aged 8+ and their families.<br />

Take the Wind Tunnel Challenge!<br />

Stand in the artificially generated<br />

on an immersive journey through<br />

of! Get hands-on with an agile<br />

imaging instrument and discover<br />

how it can help to make the world<br />

in Scratch, a visual programming<br />

language, and design and build<br />
