farm animals are important for<br />

animal welfare, livelihoods and the<br />

Are you a fearless explorer? Could<br />

you survive in the wild? Visit our<br />

explorer’s camp and meet some of<br />

our intrepid scientists as you head<br />

on an adventure to discover some<br />

of the smartest plants in the world.<br />

Learn about some of the incredible<br />

ways plants adapt to survive and<br />

track down the plants that might<br />

just be able to help you survive in<br />

an emergency!<br />

BUG BUSTING TREES <br />

Join scientists from the PROTREE<br />

project in an adventure to<br />

understand how we can help trees<br />

to fend off the bugs that would<br />

attack them. Get hands-on, meet<br />

the main offenders, and discover<br />

how trees are able to defend<br />

themselves if only we allow them<br />

to. Take the chance to help with<br />

the testing of a new computer<br />

game about tree health.<br />

them, our farms and wildlife<br />

would struggle. Join Scotland’s<br />

Rural College to build your own<br />

mini-beast home and discover<br />

how important these overlooked<br />

and shelter. Different creatures<br />

go about getting these essential<br />

elements in some very different<br />

ways. Find out about the eating<br />

and sleeping habits of native<br />

Scottish wildlife and test out<br />

some wilderness survival skills<br />

for yourself in this interactive<br />

workshop led by RSPB Scotland.<br />
