The Vernon Hills Park District has several community sports<br />

Vernon Hills Soccer Club www.vhsc.org<br />

The Vernon Hills Soccer Club offers youth soccer leagues for<br />

boys and girls, ages 4-18, at both recreational and competitive<br />

(travel) levels. The club offers Vernon Hills area youngsters best<br />

in class teaching and coaching that develops players to realized<br />

The Vernon Hills Stingers is a community based travel softball<br />

The VH Sport Club offers a variety of sports programming for<br />

lacrosse, poms and boy’s VHHS feeder basketball as well as<br />

various sports camps in conjunction with VHHS coaches. For<br />

The VHCBS offers community baseball and softball programs<br />

starting with a T- Ball program for ages 4-5 and goes up to ages<br />

14 for boys baseball and age 15 for girls softball. We also offer<br />

a travel baseball starting at age 8 through age 14. Our Community<br />

Baseball and Softball programs run from April through<br />

early July. Our travel baseball programs starts winter workouts<br />

in January and season play concludes in July. Program details<br />

and registration will be available on the Vernon Hills Community<br />

Baseball & Softball website starting on Monday January 4th<br />

<strong>2016</strong>. Walk-in registrations will be held during the month of February<br />

and will also be communicated on the website starting on<br />

Monday January 4, <strong>2016</strong>. Additionally, please look for program<br />

details in the Park District <strong>2016</strong> <strong>Spring</strong> / <strong>Summer</strong> brochure that<br />

Girls Lacrosse - Fundamentals<br />

Is your daughter interested in learning a new<br />

sport? Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport on<br />

two feet! Let the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association<br />

<br />

IGLA this spring for a weekly one-hour clinic for<br />

girls in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade who want to learn the<br />

FUNdamentals of the game. The goal of the program is to introduce<br />

and develop basic skills using fun games and coaching<br />

techniques. IGLA uses soft balls so a stick is the only equipment<br />

<br />

clinic to answer all your questions.<br />

Girls Lacrosse<br />

Be a part of a youth lacrosse league exclusively for girls from<br />

Chicago and the north, northwest, west and south suburbs.<br />

The emphasis of this program is to develop the girl within the<br />

sport of lacrosse. The goals of this program are to understand<br />

the rules of lacrosse, active teamwork, sportsmanship and<br />

foster personal development in a respectful environment led by<br />

positive coaching. All players will receive equal playing time.<br />

Girls lacrosse pre-season clinics are posted on iglax.org.<br />

Sunday, 4/10 is the 1st practice. Wednesday practices are<br />

held at Deerpath Park (6-7:30 pm) beginning 4/13.<br />

Games are played on Sunday between noon and 5 pm. Field<br />

locations will rotate within the northwest division.<br />

Game schedules will be posted on iglax.org.<br />

Players must have goggles, a stick and mouth guard. More<br />

information regarding equipment can be found at iglax.org<br />

under the “Get Ready to Play”.<br />

Registration is a 2-step process:<br />

1) Register and pay the fee at the Park District<br />

2) Complete Player Information Form at www.iglax.org<br />

Parent Volunteers Needed! Coaches and Team Support are<br />

needed for the girls lacrosse leagues. No lacrosse experience<br />

is necessary. Training classes are available. Information is<br />

available on the volunteer tab at www.iglax.org.<br />
