5K Run/Walk<br />
Saturday, April 23 at 9 am<br />
Support the Vernon Hills Park District Scholarship<br />
Program by registering for our annual Loop the Lakes 5K.<br />
Runners and walkers can enjoy the beautiful sights and<br />
sounds of nature as they loop around Big Bear and Little<br />
Bear Lakes in picturesque Century Park. This course does<br />
have small hills and inclines around the southernmost loop.<br />
Family Kite Fly<br />
Saturday, April 23 11am-1pm<br />
Century Park Island Shelter<br />
Following the Loop the Lakes 5K, we will be circling the<br />
skies high above Century Park. Come on out to this free<br />
family event to support the Illinois Park & Recreation<br />
Association’s “Flying 4 Kids” program which promotes<br />
the sale of Park District license plates that feature a kite<br />
design.<br />
APRIL SPECIAL EVENTS<br />
Bring your own kite or purchase one at the event for $6.<br />
Park at the Boat Dock Shelter parking lot<br />
and walk up to the island shelter.<br />
No registration necessary.<br />
Post-race snacks and water will be provided. Awards are<br />
given to best overall male and female as well as the top<br />
<br />
guaranteed for participants that sign up before April 1.<br />
Packet pick-up will be on site prior to the race.<br />
