Workshop on Applications
of Soft Computing
Techniques in Electrical
Engineering using MATLAB
The Department of EEE organized a two day workshop on "Applications of Soft
Computing Techniques in Electrical Engineering using MATLAB" on 09 October
2015 and 10 October 2015. The entire faculty and the students of IV B.Tech EEE
participated in the workshop.
Dr.Ramesh Kumar from Pondicherry acted as resource person and taught the
students about various tool boxes available in MATLAB and their use in the
project work. At the end, the participants had a good Hands-on experience
with MATLAB Simulink.
Workshop on Web
Application Security
The Department of CSE & IT organized a two-day training session on “Web
Application Security” on 3 October 2015 and 4October 2015. Students of IV
B.Tech CSE & IT participated in the workshop.
Mr.G.Santhosh, from Photon Infotech Pvt Ltd., acted as the resource person
and explained security related issues in web applications and different types
of security vulnerabilities (Top 10 Open Web Application Security
project(OWASP)) to the students. Workshop included hands-on session by
students.

Workshop on
IBM Bluemix
by IEG-JKC
The Departments of CSE & IT organized a training
session on IBM Bluemix on 28 August 2015.
Students of II B.Tech CSE & IT participated in the
workshop. Mr. Rosi Reddy from IEG-JKC was the
resource person and he explained the students
about the advantages of using IBM BlueMix as a
cloud computing platform and demonstrated
deployment of an app in IBM Bluemix at the end of
the session.

Application
Development
The Departments of CSE & IT organized one week
workshop on Web Application Development which
started on 06-08-15. IV B.Tech CSE & IT students
participated in the workshop.
The Resource Persons Mr.Ramesh & Mr.Anil from
COIGN EDU & IT Services Pvt Ltd taught the students
various topics like Servlets, JSPs, JDBC etc. At the end,
the participants developed small web applications &
deployed them.

Non-Destructive
Testing Techniques
for Engineers
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vishnu Institute of Technology,
Bhimavaram, as a part of industry - academia interaction, organized a Guest
Lecture on "Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Techniques for Engineers" on 6
October 2015. The resource person was Sri B. Srinivas, Operations Manager at
Kalva Engineers Private Limited, Hyderabad. He gave an overview of the various
NDT techniques and their applications in the field of automotive, aerospace, oil &
gas sector and thermal power plants. He also emphasized the role of Mechanical
Engineers in these sectors and enlightened the students regarding job
opportunities in the field of NDT after graduation.
Feasibility of
Thermal Imaging
Techniques
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vishnu Institute of
Technology, Bhimavaram, organised a Guest Lecture on "Feasibility
of Thermal Imaging Techniques for Detection & Differentiation of
Skin Cancer". The resource person was Dr. R. Ramjee, who is
currently working as Assistant Professor in the School of
Mechanical, Materials and Energy Engineering at Indian Institute of
Technology, Ropar, Punjab. The beneficiaries of the lecture were
pre-final, final year B.Tech and M.Tech students and faculty of
Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Missile
Technology
A Guest Lecture on "MISSILE TECHNOLOGY" was
conducted by Department of Electronics and
Communication Engineering at Vishnu Institute of
Technology on Saturday, 11th day of July, 2015. Dr. Ande
Murali Varaprasad a Retd., DRDO Scientist(F) and Head,
Micro Electro Mechanical System @ RCI Hyderabad
delivered a two hours lecture on MISSILE TECHNOLOGY.
The beneficiaries of this lecture were III Year and IV Year
students of Electronics and Communication Engineering,
III Year and IV Years students of Mechanical Engineering
along with the faculty of both the departments.
