Annual day celebrations of <strong>Vishnu</strong><br />
Dental College was held on 7 October<br />
2015. Dr. Mohamed Faizuddin, Former<br />
Professor & Head, Department of<br />
Periodontics & Oral Implantology,<br />
Government Dental College &<br />
Research Institute, Bangalore and also<br />
a member of our Governing Body<br />
graced the occasion as a Chief Guest.<br />
Our hon'ble Chairman Sri K. V. <strong>Vishnu</strong><br />
Raju and our Vice-Chairman Sri R.<br />
Ravichandran were present.<br />
Guest Lectures<br />
·Dr. Satish Alapati, DDS, Ph.D, Assistant Professor, College of Dentistry, University of Illinois, Chicago, USA, visited our<br />
college on 29 July 2015 and delivered a lecture on “Higher Education in USA” and gave Clinical Demonstration to Interns,<br />
postgraduate students and faculty members.<br />
Dr. Vijailakshmi Acharya, an eminent clinician from Chennai and also a Governing Body member of<br />
<strong>Vishnu</strong> Dental College, delivered a lecture on “Facing Challenges in Clinical Practice” to all the<br />
Interns, postgraduate students and faculty members on 5 October 2015.<br />
The Big Conclave<br />
Our efforts are to raise the levels of functioning the institute continuously and in this regard, we had our governing body<br />
meeting on 6 October 2015. We are fortunate that eminent personalities in the fraternity of dentistry consented and attended<br />
the meeting. We are proud to say that we had Dr. V. Surendra Shetty, Pro Vice-Chancellor, MAHE, Dr. S. Ramananda Shetty,<br />
Vice-Chancellor, Nittee University, Dr. Faizuddin, eminent academician at the meeting. Dr. K. Chandra Sekharan Nair an<br />
academician with high regard, Dr. Vijailakshmi Acharya, one of the top clinicians in the country attended the meeting. We also<br />
had Dr. Shankar Iyer, Vice-President, AAID on board<br />
Externship Programs<br />
As a part of our best practices, meritorious students were sponsored for a two-week<br />
observership program to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, USA. Two of our<br />
best outgoing Students, Dr. Battula Suma and Dr. Shaheen, and a postgraduate of<br />
Orthodontics Dr. Thathapudi Bhagya Lakshmi Prasanna, accompanied by Dr. A. V. Rama Raju,<br />
Vice-Principal visited Tufts from 19 September to 1 October 2015.
