CELEBRATIONS
2015
Kechara observed Wesak Day on
3 rd May (Sunday) to commemorate
the threefold celebration of the
Buddha’s birth, enlightenment
and passing into Parinirvana.
The full moon day of the Visakha
month was chosen by the Buddha
to manifest these attainments in
order to bless all who believe in
him with inspiration on the path
towards enlightenment.
On this auspicious day, to
remember the kindness of
the Buddha, Kechara lined up
many exciting activities for
the accumulation of merits in
dedication to our friends and
family. Many joined us in prayer
and in making offerings for the
people they love.
This year’s celebrations began
in the morning with animal
liberation, and then a children’s
baptismal, followed by a Lama
Chopa Puja, which invoked
the blessings of all the lineage
masters stemming from Buddha
Shakyamuni, through the great
Lama Tsongkhapa until our own
guru, His Eminence the 25 th Tsem
Rinpoche. This prayer clears
obstacles to our spiritual path
and blesses us to be successful in
our endeavours.
In the evening, we also held the
6 th Buddhist Pastor Ordination.
Kechara’s pastors are special
people who have chosen to
dedicate their lives towards their
spiritual journey, bridging the
gap between the lay practitioners
and a fully ordained person.
Conceptualised by H.E. the 25 th
Tsem Rinpoche, pastors are
empowered to give blessings,
perform rituals, confer teachings,
and provide spiritual guidance
and counselling.
