A Message from the CEO
Twenty fifteen was an eventful year at Kechara and in this
past year alone, we have achieved so many milestones.
We unveiled the world’s largest Dorje Shugden statue
at the Kechara Forest Retreat and in June, our very own
pastors facilitated the first ever trance session under
the guidance and supervision of H.E. the 7th Panglung
Kuten. It was indeed a feat as the students and pastors
had diligently learnt the procedures and rituals
necessary for the invocation process during trance,
and also maintained protocol during the entire time.
In addition, four new pastors were ordained this year,
bringing our total of pastors and sanghas-to-be to 17.
Our various departments here at Kechara have also
been busy this past year. Kechara Soup Kitchen saw
Mr. Henry Ooi elected as its new president. Meanwhile,
at Kechara Forest Retreat, we witnessed the enthroning
of Manjushri and also the construction of the Recovery
Aviary, which is now home to various species of
rescued birds. We’re proud to have our herb garden
at KFR in an effort to create a more environmentally
conscious community.
We are also pleased to announce that Yayasan Kechara
Indonesia was awarded a prize by the municipal government
of West Jakarta for its contribution to society – a wonderful
recognition indeed.
These are all good indications of Kechara’s
dynamic growth as well as our ability
to reach out to members of our
community. We hope to continue to
touch and enrich the lives of many
more in 2016, just as our founder
and spiritual advisor, H.E.
the 25th Tsem Rinpoche, has
touched and enriched our
lives, and the lives of many,
over the years.
