After getting suspended by the university, Siras faced an enormous degree of intrusion, as his private life turned into a spectacle for public consumption. Manoj Bajpayee as Siras Six years after Siras death, now Manoj Bajpai playing his character and also speaking out clearly against criminalizing sexual preference, is heartening. Not to the surprise of many, Aligarh openings have started on a slow note in the beginning and as the mouth talk was found to be positive, people now started moving to the theaters. As expected before, Aligarh movie could not tackle with the commercial thing, but is doing exceptionally well, with the limited number of audience. On the other side, the film is receiving equal criticism from a few sections of audiences, saying that, is destroying and hurting the human sentiments. But whatever be the case, Aligarh is a thought provoking film, where at least at a point of second, while watching the film, it makes the audience, question themselves, why not? 35
