Contents SCE OUR FOUNDER QUALIFICATION START-UP SUPPORT RESEARCH NETWORK The SCE was established in 2002 by the Falk F. Strascheg Foundation. Since then the centre has devoted itself to fostering a culture of innovation at MUAS and beyond. Numerous young entrepreneurs have emerged as a result of its efforts, and many students and professionals have taken instruction in entrepreneurial thinking and action in its training and continuing education programmes. Complex processes of innovation have been studied, and the results of those studies have enriched the discipline of entrepreneurship as it is taught today. The SCE network has flourished and, most importantly, it has become ever more international in scope. For these accomplishments, the SCE and MUAS were selected in 2011 as one of only six EXIST entrepreneurial universities in Germany, and they consistently occupy top positions in the annual ranking of German universities who promote start-up activity. Falk F. Strascheg has worn many hats in his life and continues to do so. His professional ones include: engineer, founder, entrepreneur, venture capitalist, supervisory board member, trade association head, donor and patron. The SCE is particularly pleased and grateful for his role as patron. His wife Renate Strascheg is also closely associated with the SCE. The Renate and Falk Strascheg Foundation endowed the "Strascheg Award", which was bestowed for the first time in 2014 and which is awarded in three categories for innovations at MUAS. The SCE qualification programmes are team-centred, practice-oriented and interdisciplinary. They are conducted online and offline and require their participants' full commitment. Their contents range from curricular seminars and lectures to "Real Projects", which are integrated into a wide variety of study programmes. Opportunities are also available, for example, at international schools and workshops or a one-year course of additional training through the Academic Programme for Entrepreneurship (APE). In addition, students are able to meet and make the acquaintance of interesting founders at networking events and interdisciplinary lecture series such as "Entrepreneurs Live" SCE Start-up Support provides assistance to all who seek to advance their own entrepreneurial projects. Product or services, high-tech or low-tech, software or hardware. The key criteria we consider are the degree of novelty and strength of personal commitment. The process of getting from the idea to the market is jointly analysed and developed, and a broad network of experts is on hand to clarify specific issues. In addition to the entrepreneurial advice to which everyone has access, there is also a professionalised start-up programme for intensively coached start-up teams accepted into the SCE Start-Up League. At the SCE, applied research is promoted in the fields of innovation management and entrepreneurship. Research findings flow directly into the Center‘s entrepreneurial training and start-up support efforts. Topicrelated theses and dissertations are offered and supervised at the institute. The SCE is, along with MUAS, a member of regional, national and European research networks. If they wish, partners and businessescan be included in the research activity. Currently there is a strong focus on research in asymmetrical start-up cooperation, dynamic networks as exemplified by global disaster management, and entrepreneurship education in Europe. Co-creation, collaborative innovation processes and simply good quality projects and concepts all happen within a network setting. Of primary concern are future models of successful cooperation, whether applied to qualification, start-up support or research. Accordingly, regional, national and international partnerships, whether with universities, business or institutions, rank high in importance at the SCE. Of particular importance to the SCE are its partnerships with the entrepreneurship centres at Munich's major universities (4Entrepreneurship) and in the Munich start-up scene.
