Catering at Funerals
Once again, a very caring and small group of women came
together to cater for the five funerals that we had during 2015.
The funerals were few this year, having two at the beginning of
the year and the other three towards the end of the year. The
funerals we catered for were all people well known to us and so
we rejoice that we can help our Christian families at this time.
We give thanks to our Lord that when someone is either sick or
not available, someone will always step in to give a helping
hand. We also wish to thank those who have helped out over
the past year and we are always very grateful for the food
donations given to us when we hold a funeral.
All the work and donations for the funerals are voluntary and
the money collected is given annually to Anglicare, the Church
Freezer Bank and also a donation to the Church Building Fund -
we give praise to the Lord that we are able to do this.

Growth Groups
Growth Groups at Dapto Anglican continue
to be a vital way to see people learning
together about Christ and connecting with
one another in meaningful ways. Growth
Groups also feature as vital ways in which
pastoral care is expressed for every member.
These groups generally follow the termly
teaching program set by the staff and leaders
are encouraged to attend leaders meetings at
the beginning of each term. There remain
between 45-50 groups that meet throughout
the week with 2016 seeing 2 further groups
started.
Over the years we have prioritised Sunday
afternoon newcomer groups as a point of
entry for newcomers and of covering the basic
of Christianity. 2 of these groups were also run
in 2016.
Furthermore, more specialised programs have
been run in 2015
including a ’12 steps
recovery program’
and a relationships
recovery group for
those processing
separation and
divorce.
