The Best Is Yet To Come
Luncheons: Two luncheons were held during the year. In
March, Rev Peter and Elizabeth Smart were our speakers.
They were short term missionaries in Syria. The luncheon in
November was a Christmas luncheon with music from the
Sway Group and lots of Christmas goodies to eat.
Day Coach Trip: We went to Penrith for a river cruise on the
Nepean Belle, with a buffet lunch included.
3 Day Coach Trip: This was a great trip and enjoyed by all.
We went to Cooma and the Snowy Mountain area, and really
enjoyed the snow at Charlotte Pass. We went to some
interesting attractions, and had a great guide for a whole day,
which made the trip very interesting.
Day Train Trips: These included going to Watsons Bay and a
fish and chip lunch; the Vivid Festival in Sydney was a
highlight; we also went to the Great Jewish Synagogue, and
to St. Mary’s Cathedral.
The committee purchased a Defibrillator for the church and
this has been placed on the wall. A training day was held for
a large number of people.
We want to thank Maureen and Ron Litchfield, who have
been a part of this committee since its inception. They have
decided to step back from the committee but will still be
involved as members and organise our day train trips. Also
thanks to Wal Sharp who has stepped down from the
Committee. Rick and Lorraine Miller will be on the
committee and will look after the organisation of our
luncheons.
We are going to have 2 one-day coach trips this year as well
as our usual three-day coach trip. The first outing will be to
Jervis Bay for a Dolphin Watch Cruise, and the second one
will be to Campbelltown area and Warragamba Dam area.
Our three-day coach trip will be to Cowra in October.
There will also be two luncheons during the year.
