Children’s Ministry
God was good to our church in 2015 through
the different changes, challenges and
successes that we experiences in Children’s
ministry.
2015 saw Ian Morrison come and lead the
children’s ministries at Dapto Anglican,
working with a great team of volunteers
aiming at teaching the good news about Jesus
to the children of our church and the children
of our community.
Connect Kids / Juniors
Connect Kids continued to run on Sunday
mornings alongside out 10am Family service.
We made a conscious effort to follow along
with the teaching program which was being
run in the 10am service in the primary
program, with the goal being to create good
links for parents and children to easily discuss
what they learnt. This also made it much
easier to connect our family spots in church
with the teaching program – making them
more engaging for the whole 10am Family.
Eliza Batten once again did a tremendous job
in leading Connect Juniors and the team she
served with in the mornings.
2015 also saw the reintroduction of our termly
Children’s Ministry training. As the year went
on, it was encouraging to see the confidence
and ability of our volunteer leaders grow, to
the benefit of the programs and the children
attending. We will be continuing this into
2016, while also adding the SMBC Children’s
Ministry Training day to our program for those
who can attend.
