30th International Franz Schubert Choir Competition and 3rd Sing'n'Joy Vienna May 04 - 08, 2016 Vienna, Austria 2016 is the anniversary year of the popular Franz Schubert Choir Competition & Festival. Already for the 30th time this competition will take place in the European Capital of Music Vienna. Following the competition’s motto "Sing'n'Joy Vienna" choirs from all over the world will come together from May 4-8, 2016. The Sing'n'Joy concept focuses on the traditional Schubert competition but also features intercultural meetings and performances in Friendship Concerts. The competitions will be taking place in the famous Vienna Concert House (“Konzerthaus Wien”). A highlight and at the same time festive closing of the event will be the popular Sing Along Concert with the Berlin Radio Choir. Conducted by Simon Halsey international choirs as well as individual singers will sing together with the famous Berlin Radio Choir. In appreciation of the namesake Franz Schubert, Schubert’s mass Nr. 6 E flat major will be performed together with all participants.

is mainly the location for chamber music<br />

concerts, the popular “Lunchtime Concerts”<br />

and for festive receptions. The art-nouveau<br />

hall with its fabulous decoration and magnificent<br />

coffered ceiling features an excellent<br />

acous-tic for the 30 th International Franz<br />

Schubert Choir Competition.<br />

Minoritenkirche<br />

Die Minoritenkirche ist nach dem Stephansdom<br />

eine der ältesten und künstlerisch wertvollsten<br />

Kirchen von Wien. Herzog Leopold VI gründete<br />

dort 1224 das Kloster der Minoritenbrüder und<br />

die Minoritenkirche vom Heiligen Kreuz.<br />

Just as the Stephansdom the Minoritenkirche<br />

(Minorite Church) belongs to one of <strong>Vienna</strong>'s<br />

oldest and artistically most valuable churches.<br />

Duke Leopold VI founded the monastery for the<br />

Minorites and the Minorite Church of the Holy<br />

Cross in 1224.<br />
