of Ecuador to the International Organizations in Vienna
Iwish to congratulate iconvienna for reasserting
itself all over the years as a prestigious
business and investment forum
which efficiently promotes the exchange
of experiences and the generation of enterprise
networks.
The economic and social indicators that
Ecuador has achieved since 2007 turned it
into a successful country in Latin America,
which is mainly due to the transformation
of the traditional political landscape
and used resources, especially oil, as its
main source of wealth to invest in health,
education and infrastructure.
Ecuador is a country with strong comparative
advantages due to its geography
and luminosity, which allow a high productivity,
as well as the potential of cultivating
and harvesting all year round. Ecuador
– although small in territory – has
been endowed with abundant natural
resources, fertile soil, fish-filled seas, fair
climate, varied topography and – above all –
industrious and hard-working people.
This has allowed us to bring to market
high quality products, many of which are
sold in European countries and around
the world: bananas, shrimp, tuna, passion
fruit and roses, to name a few.
We are looking forward to the final approval
on the accession of Ecuador to the
EU Trade Agreement with Colombia and
Peru, which will allow us to benefit from
improved access for our main exports to
the EU market as well as increase our opportunities
for the micro-, small- and medium-sized
enterprises.
Ecuador provides high quality products
which comply with international standards
as well as production models that are
environmentally friendly and sensitive to
the community. For this and more, Ecuador
is an excellent trading partner.
