Domestic Violence Act and also advocated for the Constitutional Assembly of Nepal to ensure the<br />

right against human trafficking/slavery/exploitation in new the Constitution. AATW<strong>IN</strong> major partner<br />

organizations are Enabling State Program (ESP), Free The Slaves (FTS), Global Fund for Women<br />

(GFW), Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women (GAATW), Hope for Children Australia Limited<br />

(Walkfree).<br />

It conducted the following activities in FY 2013/14 and 2014/15:<br />

• Conducted regional level ToT against trafficking in Pokhara, Dhangadi<br />

• Conducted research in Dolakha, Bardiya, Achham, Morang and Kaski<br />

• Carried out National Plan of Action/District Plan of Action related programs with District<br />

Committee on Controlling Human Trafficking in Sindhupalchowk, Makwanpur Bardiya ,<br />

Jhapa<br />

• Provided awareness raising at the community level to more than 700 persons<br />

• Conducted lobbying and advocacy with more than 35 key stakeholders.<br />

Research and Publication<br />

• MODERN SLAVERY <strong>IN</strong> NEPAL: Understanding the problem and existing responses in<br />

Kathmandu<br />

• “Where Accountability Lies? On developing participatory methods of monitoring antitrafficking<br />

initiatives - Kathmandu, Makwanpur, Kailali and Sindhupalchowk<br />

• On Protection Mechanism entitled “How protected are They? Conducted in Dolakha , Kaski,<br />

Bardiya , Aacham and Morang and<br />

• Media Analysis of 2071 – review of the 5 leading daily newspapers.<br />

FHI 360 Nepal – Its office is located in Baluwatar, Kathmandul and its webiste is www.fhi360.org.<br />

Since 2014, FHI 360 Nepal is providing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and mitigation<br />

services among female sex workers (FSWs) and transgender sex workers (TGSWs) in six districts (out<br />

of 33 project districts) in Nepal with the support of Saath--Saath Project of USAID Nepal. These<br />

services are integrated into existing HIV prevention, care, and support and treatment services of the<br />

project. It works in prevention and coordination and networking and collaboration related activities.<br />

In FY 2013/14 and 2014/15, it worked in six out of 33 project of districts of Saath-Saath Project. The<br />

districts in which it has been working include: Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Kailali, Kaski, Lalitapur and<br />

Sunsari districts.<br />

Gramin Mahila Srijanshil Pariwar, Sindhupalchok – It was established in 1992 aiming to protect the<br />

rights of women. It is one of the leading NGOs working in anti-traffickign activities in Sindhupalchok<br />

district. It is also the NGO that has been receiving the Government financial support for running of a<br />

rehabilitation center in Sindhupalchok distirct. During the period of June 2013 - January 2015, it<br />

conducted the following activities:<br />

• Conducted awareness programs on trafficking in Sindhupalchok district (about 1500<br />

beneficiaries)<br />

• Conducted Radio program about the trafficking and slavery (10,000 beneficiaries)<br />

• Conducted reflection class about the awareness of the human trafficking<br />

• Observed Inernational Women Day, Child Rights Day in several VDCs of Sindhupalchok<br />

district<br />

• Conducted several interactions and lobbying to the district key stakeholders in order to<br />

strengthen the District Committee on controlling human trafficking (interaction about the<br />

district action plan, training to the police about child friendly behavior, public hearing<br />

programs with the participation of CDO, DSP and other stakeholders).<br />
