• Conducted 52 health camps in 11 earthquake affected districts benefiting more than 18,700<br />
children. The health camps were run with the support of Nepal Pediatric Society and<br />
volunteers of USA and Germany.<br />
• Prepared and distributed 250,000 copies of psychosocial counseling materials targeting to<br />
children affected by the earthquake. The materials were developed in collaboaration with<br />
Department of Children, MoPH and Nepal Pediatric Society.<br />
• Provied traning to more than 100 persons about psychosocial counseling of children and<br />
mobilized them.<br />
• Provied emergency services to more than 5,800 children through CW<strong>IN</strong> ChildHelpline 1098.<br />
During the 5-months of the post-earthquake, more than 18,000 calls were received in the<br />
Helpline.<br />
• Created Special Child Protection Desks in Dolakha, Kavre and Sindupalchok districts and<br />
strengthened the already established Child Protection Desks in Kathmandu, Makwanpur,<br />
Kaski, Morang, Banke and Kaliali districts. This activity was conducted in collaboration with<br />
WCSC, Nepal Police.<br />
• Run 72 child friendly places and Child Protection Desks and established 165 temporary<br />
learing centers in schools of Dolakha, Makwanpur, Sindhuli, Kavre and Dhading districts.<br />
• CW<strong>IN</strong> led an informal network of 14 organizations called Nepal Diaster Volunteer<br />
Coordination Network for effective and coordinated support to the victims of the earthquake<br />
and prevention of child trafficking.<br />
Nepal GoodWeave Foundation – is a child rights organization. Its office is located in Maitidevi,<br />
Kathmandu and its webiste is www.goodweavenepal.org. It works in prevention, protection related<br />
activities. It basically works with the child labor in brick kilns in Kathmandu valley, Sarlahi and<br />
Rupandehi districts including in other 19 districts of the country.<br />
IV. NGOs Mainly Involved in Entertainment Sectors and Anti Internal Trafficking<br />
Biswas Nepal – It is especially working in combating internal trafficking, especially in entertainment<br />
sector in Nepal. Its office is located in Newroad, Kathmandu. Its website is www.biswasnepal.org. It<br />
has been working in anti-trafficking issues since 2008 and on safe migration since 2014. In FY<br />
2013/14 and 2014/15, its working districts were Kathmandu (municipality), Gorkha (Deurali VDC)<br />
and Dolakha (Charikot, Jiri and Singati). During the July 2013-January 2015, it provided orientation<br />
programs to about 175 female workers in entertainment sector about safe migration.<br />
Change Nepal – has been working in entertainment sector in Nepal. Its office is located in Thamel,<br />
Kathmandu. Its official website is www.changenepal.org.np. It has been working on anti-trafficking<br />
issues since 2010. Currenlty, it has CTIP project (2010-2015), Watch program (2013-2016), Human<br />
Liberty initiative (March 2010), Campaign against Children's Exploitation in Nepal (2013-2014) and<br />
Protection of Children in Dangerous and Exploitative Child Labor (2013-2016). It works in areas of<br />
prevention, protection, coordination, networking and collaboration. Its working areas are different<br />
locations of Kathmandu metropolis and Pokhara municipality.<br />
During the July 2013-June 2015, it conduced the following:<br />
• Provided formal/non-formal education to 1182 childen<br />
• Provided income generation programs to 51 persons<br />
• Provided awaness raising at the community level (through Safe migration network,<br />
community schools) to more than 27,500 persons<br />
• Provided legal classes (223), psychosocial counseling (971), health classes (1318), life skills<br />
(173), group discussion skills (722), vocational training (136), and enterpreneural trining (16),<br />
family financial eduation training (1000 households).<br />
