Avasānaṁ - 50<br />
Paṭisaṅkhā yoniso gilānapaccayabhesajjaparikkhāraṁ paṭisevāmi,<br />
With proper discernment I make use <strong>of</strong> the requisite <strong>of</strong> medicine for support when sick,<br />
yāvad-eva uppannānaṁ veyyābādhikānaṁ vedanānaṁ paṭighātāya<br />
only to ward <strong>of</strong>f oppressive feelings that have arisen<br />
abyāpajjhaparamatāyā ti. [4]<br />
and at least be free from oppression.<br />

Asking for Forgiveness<br />
Okāsa vandāmi bhante,<br />
With your consent, Venerable Sir, I <strong>worship</strong> you,<br />
(Sukhi hotha!)<br />
(May you be happy!)<br />
Mayā kataṁ puññaṁ sāminā anumoditabbaṁ,<br />
If any merit has been made by me I share it with my lord,<br />
(Sādhu! Sādhu! Anumodāmi,)<br />
(Surely! Surely! I share in it,)<br />
Saminā kataṁ puññam mayaṁ dātabbaṁ,<br />
The merit made by my lord should be shared with us,<br />
(Sādhu! Anumoditabbaṁ,)<br />
(Surely! You should share in it,)<br />
Sādhu! Sādhu! Anumodāmi,<br />
Surely! Surely! I share in it,<br />
Okāsa dvarattayena kataṁ sabbaṁ aparādaṁ khamatha me bhante,<br />
Please consent to forgive me, Venerable Sir, for any <strong>of</strong>fences I have committed by way <strong>of</strong> the<br />
three doors (<strong>of</strong> body, speech, or mind),<br />
(Khamāmi, khāmitabbaṁ!)<br />
(I forgive you, you should forgive me!)<br />
Okāsa khamāmi bhante!<br />
With consent, I forgive you, Venerable Sir!
