Pūjā - 8<br />
sabbe pi cetiye vande, upajjhācariye mamaṁ,<br />
and also to all the shrines, to my preceptor and teacher,<br />
mayhaṁ paṇāmatejena cittaṁ pāpehi muñcatan-ti!<br />
by the power <strong>of</strong> this obeisance may my mind be free from evil!<br />
Āmisapūjā<br />
Material Offerings<br />
(first <strong>worship</strong>ping the main objects <strong>of</strong> veneration)<br />
Vandāmi cetiyaṁ sabbaṁ sabbaṭṭhānesu patiṭṭhitaṁ,<br />
I <strong>worship</strong> all the shrines in all <strong>of</strong> the places that they stand,<br />
sārīrikadhātu Mahā Bodhiṁ, Buddharūpaṁ sakalaṁ sadā!<br />
the bodily relics, the Great Bodhi Tree, and all the Buddha images forever!<br />
Iccevam-accantanamassaneyyaṁ namassamāno Ratanattayaṁ yaṁ,<br />
In this way I can revere the Three Treasures without end, and while revering them,<br />
puññābhisandhaṁ vipulaṁ alatthaṁ, tassānubhāvena hatantarāyo!<br />
I have received an abundant overflow <strong>of</strong> merit, by that power may (any) obstacle be destroyed!<br />
(only chant verses for those things you are <strong>of</strong>fering)<br />
(lights)<br />
Ghanasārappadittena dīpena tamadhaṁsinā,<br />
With a lamp that burns intensely, destroying the darkness,<br />
tilokadīpaṁ Sambuddhaṁ pūjayāmi tamonudaṁ.<br />
I <strong>worship</strong> the Sambuddha, the light <strong>of</strong> the three worlds, the darkness-dispeller.<br />
(incense)<br />
Sugandhikāyavadanaṁ, anantaguṇagandhinaṁ,<br />
° With this fragrance and perfume I <strong>worship</strong> the Realised One,<br />
Sugandhināhaṁ gandhena pūjayāmi Tathāgataṁ.<br />
who is fragrant in body and speech, and has fragrant endless virtues.<br />
(water)<br />
Sugandhaṁ sītalaṁ kappaṁ, pasannamadhuraṁ subhaṁ,<br />
° Please accept this fragrant, cool, clear, sweet, and attractive drink<br />
pānīyam-etaṁ Bhagavā, paṭiggaṇhātu-m-uttama!<br />
that has been prepared, O Gracious One supreme!
