For a bride getting married in S/S, I would have
to recommend the rose and the calla lily, and for
A/W I would also recommend the rose and the
Vanda orchid. The orchid, with its strong colour,
can be be wired very strikingly in a bridal bouquet.
I also like gypsophila (baby’s breath) as you can
use it as a filler or even on its own for
the bridesmaids.
The rose is my favourite, as it’s the flower meaning
love! With an elegant, versatile style that’s multipurpose
for brides, bridesmaids, button holes and
corsages, it can be used as table decorations and is
a deservedly popular choice for wedding flowers,
due to the huge range of colours and varieties.
The biggest piece of advice I would give to a
bride picking her flowers would be proportion.
If you are a petite bride, have a classy petite
bouquet, and the larger the lady, the bigger her
bouquet can be.
We have worked with a number of bridal designers over the
years and for us it’s really about the combination of listening
to what our brides want, feeling inspired by the designer’s
collection and being aware of the latest trends - without
religiously following them!
Mid-week we can often manage ‘pop-ins’, but we do prioritise
pre-booked appointments to ensure that an experienced bridal
consultant is ready to guide ‘brides-to-be’ through
the extensive collections whilst making the experience
fun, informative and truly tailored to each of our brides’
individuals needs.
As a bridal shop, it is so important to us to offer a wide variety
of styles, shapes, sizes and colours. We usually find a few trends
can be emerging at once, we have some truly romantic tulle
skirted ball-gown dresses to choose from currently, but we
also have some rustic scoop backed ‘boho’ styles that would be
perfect for either a woodland wedding or barefoot on a beach.
