There are more than twenty years
already of thomasian community helping
the people in Bamban, Malasa Tarlac.
Many facilities have already been fixed and
built with the help of the thomasian
community. There are also ongoing
activities of the thomasian community for
the people in barangay Malasa. Playground
building, Fixing Church and Feeding
programs are still ongoing activities.
Twenty third of April Year 2016
when we went to the said community for
the feeding program for the children. In
the previous feeding program held by UST,
there have more that hundreds of children
but now it becomes lesser and lesser.
Students go to school to learn new things
by the help of their teachers but learning
new information does not limit only by just
going to school. You can learn new things
by simply observing or even by going
outside your house. There are groups that
are assigned for cooking the food for the
children while the others entertain the
children by doing and do it your own paper
automata. Our group was assigned to
teach the children how to build paper
automata.
We made a paper automata out of
cardboard material with different patterns
like Super Mario and Psy. At first, the
children were shy to participate and hang
with us but as the pass by they can easily
interact with us.
It may be a tiring and hot day but
the smile on the faces of the children made
those struggles feel like nothing. The
knowledge that we have been imparted
might be simple a really different from
what they learn in school but it is
worthwhile to learn this simple things.
