Both, needy Malaysian and International students should take advantage of the affordable medical and non-medical degree programmes offered by the AIMST University. K. Ampikaipakan was formally appointed as<br />
Chairman of it (<strong>AIMST</strong>). It was anticipated<br />
that new campus of university will be ready<br />
in five to six years. However, to proceed<br />
further in 2001, the interim campus of the<br />
<strong>AIMST</strong> was established at Amanjaya, Sungai<br />
Patani (Kedah), Malaysia. In Amanjaya<br />
interim campus, space was limited but it was<br />
sensibly well-equipped with the essential<br />
teaching and learning facilities required for<br />
the students.<br />
Year 2001 was an important year in the<br />
history of the <strong>AIMST</strong> University; because, the<br />
construction work of the <strong>AIMST</strong> University’s<br />
new campus was started formally at<br />
Semeling; Department of Private Education<br />
(IPS), Ministry of Education, Malaysia<br />
approved the Memorandum and Articles of<br />
the <strong>AIMST</strong>; the National Accreditation Board<br />
(LAN) approved the application of <strong>AIMST</strong> to<br />
conduct its first course — Matriculation (now<br />
renamed as Foundation in Science); and<br />
Interim campus of the <strong>AIMST</strong> University was<br />
located at Amanjaya, Sungai Petani, Kedah,<br />
