Engaging and Entertaining
the Customer of Today
This talk highlights the creative, cultural and commercial
opportunities technology is opening up for brands through
print. And while we all face the future, what are the timeless
truths that can guide our evolution and ensure that we adapt in
ways that will help our brands and business thrive?
How can print best integrate with our increasing use of web
and digital data? What makes it relevant, and why do these
interesting times we work in present a golden opportunity?
Speaker: Silas Amos.
Silas has 25+ years experience as a designer and
strategic partner for global FMCG companies.. He
was a founder employee for global design agency
jkr, working as designer, then Creative Planner and
ultimately Strategic Director for the London and New
York studios. He created and evolved design thinking
and visual identities for including AB InBev, Bacardi,
Diageo, Heinz, Mars, Unilever and HP.
Along the way he wrote a couple of books sharing
points of view on brands, design, marketing and their
combined value out there in the world.
Now running his own business, still working with
Unilever, HP and a range of fantastic agencies he helps
create, interpret and express insight and strategy
through design literate eyes.
What’s The Big Idea?
Amidst a blizzard of innovation and new marketing and agency
paradigms ideas are no less important, but it’s increasingly
easy to loose them in the wind. How do we best match new
technological opportunities to existing ideas? How do we
choose the right horse to back? Who do we look to for the
creative spark? And how get them out into the world? And is
being first mover really and advantage or a handicap? Who is
doing it well, and what are the pitfalls? Silas will be joined for
this discussion by Michael Bergmeister, Head of Production at
Red Bull and Matt Leese from the agency SGS International.
