Ink Logistics and
The Lean Workflow
Shorter production runs, high running costs and stringent
quality demands in packaging and label printing have made
waste elimination a top priority.
Automating ink logistics, from the ink’s arrival at the plant to
printing, can deliver a waste-free and productive workflow,
increase ink yield up to 30 per cent, and save thousands of
hours’ set-up time.
Two companies driving ink automation are GSE Dispensing,
supplier of dispensing, proofing and ink systems, and TRESU
Group, provider of flexo technology.
Together they will present all aspects of ink technologies and
the benefits of automatically controlling the ink supply from
the bucket to press, using closed ink and coating circulation
systems to optimise pressure, flow rate and viscosity.

CEO, GSE Dispensing
Maarten Hummelen co-owns the GSE Group,
consisting of GSE Dispensing, world leader in ink and
paste management solutions for the graphics, textiles
and coating industries, and Print Proof Solutions,
supplying flexo printers with cost and time-saving
proofing solutions. His management expertise is
the result of over 20 years in business-to-business
solutions sales, marketing and operations. Before the
management buy-out of the ink dispensing activities
from Stork Prints in 2006, he held a number of
marketing, sales and purchasing positions within
the Stork Group. As Marketing Director, he has
responsibility for GSE Group’s marketing, customer
service, process improvement and product functions.
Maarten has an M.Sc. in Business Administration from
University of Twente (The Netherlands).
Speaker: Søren Maarssø,
Chief Operating Officer, TRESU Group
Søren Maarssø has over 20 years’ experience in
senior management and engineering roles at the
TRESU Group. Søren led the development of printing
and converting lines for the liquid food packaging
and lottery market, backed by integrated service
programmes. This resulted in sales of over 75
multi-station presses to global customers including
TetraPak. As COO since 2008, Søren has overseen
the group restructure following its acquisition of
a Danish financial investor, the broadening of its
flexo ancillary offering, and the development of
in-line coating systems for the digital market. Søren
graduated in Mechanical Science and Engineering
Business Administration from VIA University College
in Denmark.
