Ai’s: friend
or foe

Have you ever thought of how
cool it would be to have a robot to
help you out? Well so have other
people and some scientists are
starting to make them.
There are many skeptics about
the whole robot helping humans
out situation because they think
that the robots will “turn on their
masters” and injure them badly or
kill them. These people could be
right, but they could also be very
wrong.
Of course the possibility has
come up and the scientists have
considered this option, and they
have come up with pros and cons
of artificial intelligence.
Con #1: They have the ability to
replace human jobs. Yes this is
not the best thing, losing a job to
something that isn’t human, but
still better than dying.
Con #2: They can malfunction
and do the opposite of what they
were programmed to do. This is
one of the problems people are
most worried about because it is
true that something could happen
and they could do more harm
instead of good, but what are the
chances of that actually
happening.
Con #3: They can be misused and
result in mass destruction. Now this
is the one people are truly afraid of
because nobody wants to be in a
war with a machine that could
probably be programmed to kill the
entire human race.
Although these are all
realistic possibilities there are still
many advantages to having
artificial intelligence by our side.
Pro #1: They can take on complex
and stressful work that humans
might not be able to do. This is a
very good advantage because
