DOUBLE CUT<br />

The most popular fl uting style. It has both<br />

right and left hand fl utes which combine<br />

to produce a chisel type cutting edge. The<br />

chisel edge permits faster penetration and<br />

stock removal while the reduced pull of<br />

the tool allows better control and reduces<br />

operatorfatigue. Chips produced by the<br />

double cut are smaller than spiral cut which<br />

allows the tool to be run at slower speeds if<br />

necessary.<br />

SPIRAL CUT<br />

The second most popular fl uting style. It has<br />

only right hand spiral fl utes and is intended<br />

for general purpose use on cast iron, steel,<br />

copper and brass alloys, and other ferrous<br />

materials. offers good stock removal and<br />

excellent surface fi nishes<br />

ALUMINUM CUT<br />

Outstanding for rapid stock removal on soft<br />

or non-ferrous type materials. The wide<br />

fl ute design permits easy chip disposal.<br />

Aluminum cut burrs have special fl ute<br />

relief design for added strength and longer<br />

tool life. Use the Aluminum Cut design on<br />

aluminum, magnesium, brass, zinc alloys,<br />

lead, hard rubber and most plastics.<br />
