is being called the deadliest
terrorist attack on U.S.
soil since 9/11. The June 12
shooting at an Orlando, Fla.,
gay nightclub left 50 dead.
As a mark of respect
for the victims, President
Obama ordered that U.S.
flags remain at half-staff
until sunset on June 16.
The order applies to all
U.S. public buildings and
grounds, military posts, and
naval stations, as well as
to embassies and military
facilities located abroad.
Many world cities lit
landmarks in rainbow colors
in commemoration of
the victims of the attack,
including New York, Sydney,
Paris, and Tel Aviv.
