move received criticism
A truck ran over five
women, including a
12-year-old girl, after hitting
a roadside tree at Kaalimatha
on the outskirts
of the city on Wednesday
was on a steep slope the
truck first hit a roadside
managed to run to safety,
nine persons came under
CM Siddaramaiah in Delhi,
To Meet Congress High-Command Today
Karnataka Chief Minister
Siddharamaiah is
in Delhi to meet party
president Sonia Gandhi.
The meeting is in
progress at Karnataka
Bhavan in the national
capital. It is learnt that
decision has been taken
to make K C Ramamurthy
as the 3rd Rajya
Sabha candidate.
KPCC President G
Parameshwara who accompanied
the Chief
Minister to Delhi yesterday
are scheduled to
meet Digvijay Singh after
meeting party president
Sonia Gandhi.
There were rumours
of S M Krishna showing
interest in contesting to
one Rajya Sabha seat.
However, the former
CM SM Krishna brushed
aside these and clarified
that he is not in the fray
for Rajya Sabha seat and
the news about his candidature
are false.
Rumours have been
rife in the last few
months that the senior
congressman was lobbying
for a seat in the
Rajya Sabha. It was believed
that the former
minister would be in
Rajya Sabha than contest
assembly elections.
In the current political
equation, Congress
has every chance to
win 2 seats in the upper
house. There were rumours
that Krishna had
lobbied with the JD(S)
and gotten into a deal
which could give congress
a third seat. But
there has been stiff opposition
within the party
for his candidature.
Sources close to the
party told that Sonia
Gandhi had proposed
Jairam Ramesh and Oscar
Fernandes for Rajya
Sabha but it is believed
that the state congress
leaders were not in favour
of it.
With these latest developments
all the action
involving selection
of candidates to the Rajya
Sabha and legislative
council has now shifted
to New Delhi for the
Congress.
All three parties
have to finalize candidates
for the four Rajya
Sabha seats before May
31, the last day for filing
nominations, while
May 30 is the deadline
for filing of papers to
the seven seats of the
legislative council.
Church in KG Halli Vandalized by Miscreants
St Lutheran`s church
located at Pillanna Garden
in KG Halli was
vandalized by a group
of miscreants yesterday
around 10pm in
the midst of the dark.
POLITICAL SCENARIO
According to the reports
more than 10
people were involved
in the incident, the
idols, furniture and the
church walls were all
damaged severly.
The miscreants vanished
into the night
seats are on June 10
and 11 respectively.
Assured of two seats
in the Rajya Sabha and
five in the council, chief
minister Siddaramaiah
and KPCC president G
Parameshwara have
gone to New Delhi to
discuss possible candidates.
The Congress
is mulling a third candidate
although it is 13
votes short of touching
the magic number of
45 needed to clinch the
nomination.
Sources say the high
command is likely to
leave the choice to
Siddaramaiah and not
impose its candidate,
after the Hebbbal bypoll
debacle.The party
leaving behind the ruins
of the church.
Fortunately, no casualties
have been reported.
A complaint
has been registered
at the K G Halli police
station. Reason for the
had fielded CK Rahman
Sharif, the high
command’s candidate,
against the CM’s wishes,
who had pitched for
Byrathi Suresh. With
JD(S) national president
the party is considering
BM Farookh, a
businessman.
act is unknown yet and
investigations are on to
find the people behind
this. Other details of
the case have not been
reported yet from the
officials.
Australia-India relationship
was hitting a
new high, underpinned
by the Indian Diaspora.
The number of Australians
of Indian descent
has tripled in the last decade
to 450,000, making
it about 2% of the overall
population. Numbers
had dropped sharply in
the three years following
the widely reported cases
of crimes and robberies
of Indians in Australia in
2009. The advantages of
an Australian education,
the country offered quality
education as good as
in some of the popular
Western destinations but
at more affordable costs.
It also allows students to
work while studying for
up to 22 hours a week,
and it allows graduates
to work in the country for
more than two years under
certain conditions that
are less restrictive than in
some of the other popular
study destinations.
Bengaluru, May 27:
Today the state congress
leaders paid respects to
Nation’s first PM Jawaharlal
Nehru on the occasion
of his 52 death
anniversary. Ministers
Ramalinga Reddy and H
Anjaneya paid respects in
the city today to the former
PM.
From the pages of History….!
Pandit Nehru was born
on November 14, 1889, in
Allahabad, India. In 1919,
he joined the Indian National
Congress and joined
Mahatma Gandhi in the
independence movement.
Nehru complained of pain
in the back, on his return
from Dehradun on 26th
may. He spoke to the doctors
who attended on him
for a brief while and almost
immediately Nehru
collapsed. He remained
unconscious until he died.
His death was announced
to Lok Sabha at 14:00 local
time on 27 May 1964,
cause of death is believed
to be heart attack. Draped
in the Indian national
Tri-colour flag the body
of Jawaharlal Nehru was
placed for public viewing.
On 28 May, Nehru was
cremated in accordance
with Hindu rites at the
Shantivan on the banks
of the Yamuna River witnessed
by many hundreds
of thousands of mourners
who had flocked into the
streets of Delhi and the
cremation grounds.
Nehru, the man and
politician made such a
powerful imprint on India
that his death on 27 May
1964 left India with no
clear political heir to his
leadership.
The Red Road that leads
Locals were reportedly
angry over his late
arrival in the village
following the murders
and they attacked his
convoy and set a police
vehicle and two motorcycles
on fire. Police
had to fire in the air to
disperse the stone-pelting
crowd and Mr. Manjhi
was escorted to safety.
MrPaswan and his
cousin were both shot
killed them on spot.
They set fire on some
100kg Opium seized in Delhi
In a two day operation
in Delhi and Uttar
Pradesh’s Bareilly. 105
kilograms of opium
was seized and arrested
five traffickers in
the past three days.
The drug, which originated
in Myanmar,
was being transported
from Manipur to north
India in an SUV . the
drug that was seized
was worth about 20
crore in the international
market.. Possibly,
the largest haul by
the Delhi police. The
seized drug, cultivated
in the militancy-affected
areas of Manipur,
was smuggled into the
Capital from Bareilly.
The vehicle that was
bought was specially
modified and had dozens
cavities in the roof,
seats and floor where
the drug was hidden.
Those arrested, Nandram
alias Master, 55,
Mangli Ram, 32, Umesh
Saini, 50, Rakesh Gupta,
50, and Chanderpal,
50, are all natives of
Bareilly. Nandram and
Mangli were arrested
on Tuesday with SUV
from which 105 kgs of
opium were recovered.
Police officers believe
that Delhi-NCR
has become a preferred
location for drug suppliers
from Bareilly
due to its central location
and proximity to
main market of these
drugs.
This is the second
such seizure of opium
by the special cell
within a fortnight. In
the previous operation,
five drug smugglers
were arrested
with 69 kg of opium.
The current government
officials said that the
function would make an
important impact in the
life of people. They also
added that Bengalis would
remember this for their
life long memory. Winning
ceremony a memorable in
the nationwide. She also
has got 35 members in the
in the RajyaSabha.
Some also predict that
this Red road ceremony
also may lead her to the
Red Fort.
trying to rebut claims
of growing lawlessness
or jungle raj in Bihar.
After his party placed
poorly in the national
election, Mr Kumar
as a self-penalty, and installed
MrManjhi as his
replacement. When he
decided to return to office,
MrManjhi refused
to oblige by stepping
down, was expelled
from their party, and
then launched his own
political outfit.
Singh on Thursday said
such incidents are not
meant to be forgotten
and strict action should
be taken in this connection.
“We don’t look at
these incidents as
something which can
be forgotten. These incidents
need to be taken
note of and acted
upon,” said Singh, while
addressing a press conference.
“By large, India welcomes
all, and is a safe
place. People can rely
Singh further added
that the incident was
not racially motivated.
A 23-year-old Congolese
Kunj area.
Last week, the Delhi
Police detained a man
in this connection.
The police have initiated
a probe into the
matter. Police said they
are trying to ascertain
whether the attack was
racially motivated or a
fight that turned ugly
or a robbery attempt
or a case of personal
enmity.
The cops are also
looking for CCTVs that
might have recorded
the brutal act.
China to dispatch
nuclear submarines
China is planning to
dispatch nuclear submarines
into the Pacific for
the first time amid heightened
tensions with the US,
it has been reported.
Officials claim new
US weapons stationed in
South Korea have forced
its hand - among them is
an anti-ballistic system
and hypersonic glide missiles.
The prediction comes
from a recent Pentagon
report for Congress which
states China will ‘probably
conduct its first nuclear
deterrence patrol sometime
in 2016’.
G-7 Summit is happening in
Japan and U.S. President Barack
Obama visited the Hiroshima memorial
doom in Hiroshima today.
As Obama Embarks Upon Historic
Visit to Hiroshima People Oppose
The entire world is aware of the
unforgettable history U.S. droping
nuclear boms in Hiroshima and
Nakasaki in Japan. The U.S. army
did not consider the civilians and
the innocents in the city when
dropped a nuclear bomb. The entire
city was destroyed completely
leaving millions of people dead.
Then on Japan coming to its
power established a strong name
of its own in business and industrial
growth. The well recognized
country, Japan, is hosting the G-7
Summit. World leaders from various
country from various departments
are participating in the
meeting. U.S. President Barack
Obama too is taking part in the
meeting.
Obama decided to visit Hiroshima
Park in Hiroshima today. But
people from entire Japan was not
happy with his visit to Hiroshima
Park. People started protesting in
the park and across the country.
The Japan Prime Minister Abe too
became an unwanted person because
of this issue.
People held pluck card saying,
“No Obama and No Abe.” It shows
that people are angry on their
own Prime Minister.
In respect to that, every word
uttered by Obama and gestures
made by during his speeches are
observed very keenly by the entire
world. For America it is the matter
filling the pit that was made 71
years back in Island.
This is Obama’s first ever visit
to Japan after he became the President
of America. Will he bridge
the gap existing between America
HSBC To Appoint New Boardroom Pay Chief
and Japan for 71 years. For Obama
it can be a casual visit or some political
movement. But for the citizens
of Japan it is a very serious
and an unwanted visit. They do
not want the President of America
coming to the graveyard of the innocent
who gave their no reason.
Many who witnessed the blast in
1945 are still having incurable
lungs problems and many other
diseases caused by the nuclear
radiation.
Bomb victims and the neighbouring
countries are looking for
the compassion and a true apology
from the American government
and not the justification of
the incident.
In fraud probe days before
searching Google’s Paris
raids as France escalates
its war on big businesses
avoiding tax.
French police raided
the French headquarters
of McDonald’s as part of
a tax fraud probe - days
before searching Google’s
Paris base, it has emerged.
Agents of a special corruption,
financial and tax
crime unit searched the
premises west of Paris
last week, seizing documents,
a police source
said. French authorities
suspect McDonald’s has
been illegally lowering
its tax bill by channeling
French earnings to
Luxembourg, where its
European headquarters is
based, and where corporate
taxes are much lower.
Egypt Air Deep
water Searches to
Start in Days
A French navy surveillance
vessel will lead the search operation
as investigators hope
to retrieve the jet’s crucial
black boxes.
Deep water searches for
the wreckage and black boxes
of Egypt Air Flight 804
will start in the coming days,
France’s air safety agency has
said.
The BEA said two of its
investigators were on board
the French navysurveillance
vessel La Place, which set sail
from Corsica on Thursday.
It is working alongside the
Egyptian authorities to investigate
the 19 May crash, which
killed all 66 passengers and
crew board the Paris to Cairo
flight.
The Egyptian authorities
“will be piloting these underwater
searches” with the
BEA’s help, it added.
Egyptian authorities have
said they believe terrorism
is a more likely explanation
than equipment failure, and
some aviation experts have
said the erratic flight reported
by the Greek defence minister
suggests a bomb blast or a
struggle in the cockpit.
Europe’s largest bank is to
seek a new head for its board
pay committee as Sam Laidlaw
prepares to step down from the
position as per sources.
Sam Laidlaw used to be chief
executive of Centrica. As the incumbent
prepares to step down
after nearly a decade as a director
the organization looking forward
to appoint a new chief for
the operations.
According to sources Sam
Laidlaw, the former boss of Centrica,
is likely to leave the board
of HSBC committee during the
course of 2017, which is nine
years after his appointment.
The timings and dates of Mr
Laidlaw’s exit is not yet fixed,
and internal intel pointed out
that he continues to enjoy the
overwhelming support of HSBC
shareholders, having been
re-elected with a 99.33% vote in
favour of his re-election at last
month’s annual meeting.
The appointment of a new
remuneration committee chair
will make Mr Laidlaw’s replacement
the third person to hold
the role in as many years decided.
Mr Laidlaw took over in 2015
from Sir Simon Robertson, the
former Rolls Royce chairman
and Goldman Sachs banker, at
the helm of the bank’s executive
pay policy and is now focused on
building a new oil and gas venture
called Neptune
The post of remuneration
committee chairman has become
one of the most complex
boardroom positions in international
banking since the financial
crisis of 2008, with a series
of reforms dictating an overhaul
of the way executives are recogonized
and benefitted.
Significant proportions of
bankers’ pay are now subject to
long-term deferral periods, with
malus and clawback enabling
employers to cancel elements
of variable pay in an attempt to
hold executives to account.
HSBC is one among the major
banks which has disclosed that
hundreds of millions of poundsworth
of bonuses have been
withheld because of misconduct
and other miscellaneous issues.
In addition to his responsibilities
as chair of HSBC’s remuneration
committee, Mr Laidlaw
plays a key role in identifying a
successor to Douglas Flint, HS-
BC’s chairman, who notified in
the bank’s annual report that he
would retire next year.
Henri de Castries, the outgoing
chairman of AXA, the French
insurer, recently joined HSBC’s
board as a non-executive director,
and has been named as a
likely contender to succeed Mr
Flint after his term.
Information is unclear whether
Mr de Castries wants the role.
The search process is expected
to last for several months. The
ongoing boardroom fluctuations
at HSBC come as the bank continues
an aggressive drive to become
more efficient under Stuart
Gulliver, its chief executive.
Despite frustration among
executives and investors over
its share price performance, Mr
Gulliver is also heavily backed
by shareholders, with more than
99.7% supporting his re-election
at the AGM.
The bank announced numerous
changes to its pay policy,
including a move to cut the
maximum sums that executive
directors can earn, avoiding the
revolts which have hit dozens
of blue-chip companies during
this AGM season. Accoring to the
sources, HSBC declined to comment
over the same.
The Islamic country,
Pakistan is in a strong
debate to protect and
be strict on women.
One side the government
approved a law
this year for the protection
of women and
stop abusive by husband.
But on the other
hand the Islamic ideology
group is completely
against this law.
The council including
of all the Islamic
clerics and scholars
who advise the Pakistani
government and
legislators are against
the law. They said that
that would be ‘Un-Islamic’
for women to go
for a abusive relationship
and seek refuge
in a shelter. According
to them it would be the
responsibility of man to
take care of his woman.
Before the bill is from
Terror on twitter
It is a known fact that
Social Media is rampantly
used by the terror outfits
across the globe. Here is
another incident. Sally
Jones, an ISIS jehadi terrorist,
has taken to twitter
to issue fresh threats.
The 46-year-old wrote:
“To be honest I wouldn’t
go into central London
July well to be honest I
wouldn’t go there at all especially
A British ISIS woman
suspect who joined the
terror group in 2013 has
warned on social media.
Sally Jones, tweeted a
warning against travelling
into London by Tube in
the coming months.
The 47-year-old’s outburst
came just one day
after she threatened London
with a summer bombing
campaign.
The grandmother from
Kent said: “To be honest
I wouldn’t go into Central
London through June..or
even July to be honest I
wouldn’t go there at all especially
on the Tube.
“U can’t just sit there
She later tweeted: “EN-
she was suspended from
the social media network
Her account was suspended
from Twitter immediately.
She also posted
a picture of herself in a
black burka, posing next
to a river which she captioned
as the Tigris, Iraq.
Jones, who once played
the spine of MI5 and MI6 -
A hateful audio recording
released by ISIS this
US over the month of Ramadan
- which runs from
China economy depreciation
to pose a threat in India
Zomato’s loss triples due to
lack of fulfillment of orders
Rajan commented in
India’s financial capital in
a speech on Thursday, the
RBI said in a statement.
The governor of Reserve
Bank of India
(RBI), RaghuramRajan,
speaking to central bank
governors from the nations
of the South Asian
Association for Regional
Cooperation (SAARC)
groupinghas warned
that a “sharp” slowdown
in China’s growth may
be a threat to the global
economy, highlighting
possible impact from
the shadow banking system
of its neighbour, the
RBI said in a statement.
China is in difficulties
as they over invested and
the returns are not meeting
their expectations.
There is a severe depreciation,
and difficulty in
maintenance of the assets.
Govt to auction 70k cr
worth reserves of oil
and gas fields
Oil minister DharmendraPradhan
on Wednesday launched the
auction of 67 small oil and gas inventories,
clubbed into 46 fields, to
unlock 30 million tonnes of hydrocarbon
treasure worth Rs 70,000
crore as part of the government’s
efforts to reduce India’s import dependence
by 10% by 2022.
This is the first oilfield sale under
a transparent, straight-forward
revenue-sharing fiscal model
instead of the production-sharing
regime in vogue till now. As an
icing, the discoveries are being
offered without any marketing or
pricing restriction on explorers —
an issue that had inhibited investors
and dogged several contracts
for fields auctioned till now under
the profit-sharing dominion.
The government had in September
last year decided to move away
from production-sharing model to
make it simpler for explorers to do
business. It subsequently extended
the fiscal model for auctioning
“Bad loans in the banking
system were likely to
grow over current levels,
and, in addition, there
might be serious weaknesses
in the shadow
banking system, which
could feed back to banks,”
the RBI summarized Rajan
as saying on China.
“Both could be significant
downside risks as
they could have second
round effects for Saarc
economies. Chinese
growth would depend
not just on its policies,
but also on growth elsewhere
in the world.”
A “sharp” slowdown of
the Chinese economy “still
remained a significant
risk for the global economy
and the Saarc region,”
Rajan added, according
to the RBI. The RBI governor
had previously
warned of the potential
spillover effect from China’s
economy to other
countries, including India.
all future exploration
blocks to
untangle the industry.
The new administration is transparent
and keeps the government
out of micro-management of projects,
Pradhan said. “For us (Modi
government), minimum governance,
maximum government is
not a mere slogan. It is a matter of
faith and practice.”
Under the production-sharing
regime, explorers were allowed
to recover their investment before
sharing profit with the government.
This model had been condemned
by the federal auditor for
incentivizing gold-plating of costs
by explorers, which had an adverse
impact on government’s income.
In the new model, discoveries
will be given to explorers offering
the maximum revenue to the
government, irrespective of their
costs. The discoveries on offer
were made by state-run ONGC and
Oil India but were surrendered as
they found them not viable to start
production due to remote location
or small size as well as pricing and
marketing restrictions. Pradhan
said ONGC and OIL would be free
to bid for the discoveries, which
had been made between five and
30 years back. The auction comes
at a time when global oil and gas
prices have plunged, forcing explorers
to cut back on capital expenditure.
But AtanuChakraborty, who
took over as the head of Directorate
General of Hydrocarbons,
which acts as the sectoral regulator,
said it was the ideal time to
offer the auction as it would take
about three years to start production,
by which time oil and gas
prices are projected to soar up.
PankajChaddah in 2008,
Zomatohas so far raised
$225 million from investors,
including Rs 483
crore from Info Edge.
According to sources
on May 9, HSBC Securities
and Capital Markets,
in its report on Info Edge,
marked down Zomato’s
valuation by 50%, attributing
it to the company’s
losses and the markets
that it operates in.
The question rose if
Zomatocould expect positiveeconomy
Food technology startups
Indian food tech startups
are facing investor flak by
offering heavy discounts
Goyal recently said that
the food ordering business
is growing rapidly,
and is now doing 33,000
that the company
would hit profitability at
40,000 orders in the next
3-4 months as per expectations.
Bankruptcy law positive for banks
in India: Moody’s
Global credit rating agency
Moody’s Investors Service on Thursday
stated that India’s bankruptcy
code boosts creditors bargaining
power against big borrowers.
On May 11, Parliament passed the
national bankruptcy law, the Insolvency
and Bankruptcy Code, 2016,
which is now pending the President’s
signature.
“The current weak legal framework
for asset resolution has been
a key structural credit weakness for
Indian banks,” SrikanthVadlamani,
vice president and senior credit officer
at Moody’s.
“The proposed new rules address
several key inefficiencies in the current
resolution regime,” he said in
his report `Banks-India: Bankruptcy
Law is Credit Positive for Indian
Banks, but Challenges Remain’.
According to the report, the proposed
bankruptcy law would; introduce
a unified framework to replace
the current collection of separate
laws drafted in piecemeal fashion
across overlapping jurisdictions;
reduce threshold for creditors to
invoke the insolvency resolution
process (IRP); introduce third-party
insolvency professionals (IP) as
intermediaries to oversee the IRP,
replacing the debtor’s existing management
and operate the company
as a going concern upon initiation
of an IRP; give creditors overriding
authority to approve terms of any
restructuring package; and limit
duration of IRP to maximum of 270
days, after which a company will be
automatically liquidated.
These features are positive for
Indian banks because they will act
as an incentive for corporate borrowers
to avoid loan default and
improve the recovery of assets, the
report said. In addition to increasing
banks’ influence over the restructuring
process, the mandated replacement
of the existing management
during the process should act as a
key disincentive for debtors to default
in the first place. Moreover, the
limited timeframe strengthens the
banks’ bargaining power over delinquent
borrowers.
However, Moody’s also said significant
infrastructure restrictions
have to be negotiated for the framework
to be fully operational, including;
development of the required
infrastructure, required support
and new restructuring procedure,
particularly legal resources and information
utilities; time required for
various stakeholders to accumulate
the requisite legal experience and
precedents for the new system to
be fully up and running; and limited
impact that the new law may have
on the liquidation process. The proposed
law will have limited benefit
in addressing the current asset quality
issues facing Indian banks.
“In particular, the banks will still
have limited avenues available to
dispose of distressed assets, and will
in general remain reluctant to make
appropriate haircuts to reflect their
current weak operating conditions,”
Moody’s added.
“U-TURN” star Shraddha
lands on Kollywood shores
Shraddha Srinath, who surprised us all with her flawless
performance in Pawan Kumar’s latest Kannada
thriller U-Turn, will be seen alongside Nivin Pauly in his
next Tamil film. It is slated to go on floors next month.
Debutant director Gautham Ramachandran, after
months of auditioning, zeroed in on Shraddha, as he felt
she was apposite for the role of a crime reporter in the
film. The tamil film is based on critically acclaimed Rakshit
Shetty directed Ulidavaru Kandanthe.
“Shraddha was one of the first girls I met during the
auditions. Although I felt she seemed perfect for the role,
we decided to audition a few more girls. Over the course
of nearly five months, we auditioned several girls but nobody
fit the role as convincingly as Shraddha,” Gautham,
former assistant of filmmakers Mysskin and Rajeev Menon,
told IANS.
“The second time we met Shraddha; she came well
prepared and had even memorised her lines. In the second
audition, she just proved she was destined to do the
role and we were convinced too,” he said.
The film’s producers weren’t initially enthusiastic
about the idea.
“They wanted a familiar heroine and a few wellknown
actresses were also interested to be part of the
project. As a team when we saw Shraddha audition the
second time, we were convinced she’d be ideal for the
role. Nivin was very supportive with my decision.”
Shraddha, a lawyer by profession, has already worked
in two Kannada films and a Malayalam film prior to this.
It is with U-Turn she stole the limelight and has caught
the attention of filmmakers.
According to sources, the rest of the cast is being
finalised.
Was sultan too tough for Salman Khan?
Justin Bieber
renting LA
mansion
Pop star Justin Bieber
is renting a 10-bedroom
Los Angeles mansion
for USD 80,000 a month.
Although he launched
his “Purpose” world
tour this year, Bieber,
22, has decided to lease
a 10-bedroom home in
Toluca Lake, so he has
somewhere to return to
on breaks, reported TMZ.
The home apparently
features 16 bathrooms, a
gym, game room, screening
room and a pool. The
mansion is situated on
a lake and comes with
its own boat and dock.
Salman Khan, Actor
who portrays
a wrestler in Ali
Abbas Zafar latest direction
‘Sultan’ on Tuesday
said that most of
the fights in the film are
real, without equipment
and with real wrestlers.
“When Ali narrated
to the me the story I
thought I’ll be able to do
it. But then while doing
it, opposite me were not
fighters but real wrestlers.
Most of the shots
in the film are real, wrestlers
and Mixed Marital
Arts, there are no cables
and because of them
there is lot of contact
happening in the film.
When they lift you and
put to the ground it used
to hurt, they were of
120-130 kilos,” he said.
“They expect you to
pick you up and throw
you down. That was the
most difficult part. When
a wrestler trains he
trains for 2-3 hours and
then 2-3 hours again in
the evening, then training
for MMA, and 6-7
hours of shoot every day
non-stop, fighting nonstop.
So those six hours
in those lights and training,
that used to take a
toll,” Salman said, at the
trailer launch of the film.
Salman playing the
lead role character in
the film as a wrestler,
goes on to win the gold
medal for India in wrestling.
But due to various
reasons leaves wrestling
but returns to the
sport after some time.
When age and an unfit
body become hurdles in
front of him, he trains
under Randeep Hooda’s
character in MMA and
reaches the big stage.
Is the character of Sultan
inspired from real
life? “No, it’s not from
anywhere. This is from
his (Zafar) mind. It is the
story of an underdog”.
With Actress Anushka
Sharma playing the
female lead and his love
interest in the film, is
also a wrestler has an
intersting side to the
story with its own zest.
Salman said, “he is a simple
man who has no ambition.
He sees a feisty
girl and falls in love with
her. She’s a wrestler, he’s
a nobody but he feels
whenever I get married,
it will be with her. That
falls flat because she is
so strong-headed. She
missunderstands him.
Then it’s all about Sultan,
how he goes down, and
how he comes back with
the help of the woman he
loves. How the woman is
responsible for making
him, breaking him and
because of her how he
starts making it again. ”
Nayanthara to turn producer
Rumours are floating
around that star
Nayanthara will soon
wear the producer’s
hat.
2015 turned out to
be a fruitful year for
the talented actress
with three subsequent
hits - Thani Oruvan,
Maya and Naanum
Rowdy Thaan.
While she is currently
occupied with
various south projects,
Nayanthara is planning
to bankroll a Tamil
woman-centric project
that will see her in a
dynamic role.
Reports hint that
the actress will play a
collector in the film,
which will be directed
by Jagan, a former assistant
to director A R
Murugadoss.
The film is expected
to go on floors in a couple
I am really excited and privileged to play
the final for RCB: AB De Villiers
AB de Villiers
who has played
less amount of final
matches is excited
to play the IPL
final in Bangalore
on Sunday. He says
that he is honoured
and privileged to
play the final for the
Royal Challengers in
their home-stadium.
The stunning
performance of De
Villiers in the last
match again the Lions
in the semifinals
made the Bangalore
team to climb the
stairs and the finals.
It is an unforgettable
score he took in
the semi-final match
under pressure. He
scored 79 against
the Lions.
He expressed his
heart felt feeling
about this final that
final meant much
more for him. He
said, “I have played
very less number of
final matches in my
career. I am really
excited and privileged
to play the final
for RCB. Though
I am playing for RCB
for six years I have
never played a final
but now.”
We could make
wrong many others
saying that we
under performed
during the matches
by reaching the final
in the current year
IPL.
Chasing 159 for
a win, RCB looked
down and out at
29 for five wickets,
with Dhawal Kulkarni
grabbing four of
them, before de Villiers
smashed 79 not
out off 47 balls to
script a sensational
comeback and take
the team home in
18.2 overs.
Speaking about
the semifinals victory,
De Villiers said
that Kulkarni really
bowled well and lots
of credit must go to
him.
“We always had in
our mind the great
encouraging words
of former teammate
Zaheer Khan that we
are never out of the
funny game. During
this match, they almost
won the game
in power play and
we just kept fighting
without losing our
hope.”
He is very much
proud of his 79 in
the last match and
said this is one of
the best and interesting.
But he is never
concentrates on
his statistics but on
helping the team to
gear up to the final.
goal in the 42nd minute. It was a pressure
for both the teams to take the one more
on the Bangaluru’s team that led Danilel
Lhimpuia to shoot a goal. The Bengaluru
last. This led them to an ultimate win.
Mohun Bagan side slumped to a 1-2 defeat
against Tampines Rovers. Bagan went
below the score on the 62nd minute. But
the team managed to make it equal after
During the extra time they scored till
five and kept the mark constant.
