experts in those fields. Parenting Skills,
Cyber Crime, Finance, Grooming,
Food Safety, Health & Nutrition,
Pranic Healing etc. are some of the
highly appreciated sessions they have
done so far.
JAMM’s is very active on social
causes. They received a lot of
recognition for their exemplary work in
collecting a huge sum of money for the
Nepal Earthquake victims. Ritu
emphasizes that the purpose of the
group is not only networking on
common grounds on women related
issues but also to facilitate social
service. The group undertakes a social
service mission every 6 months.
Recently the JAMMies rolled a drive
named “Happy New Hair”, where they
collected money from their members,
which was then used to give haircuts to
365 underprivileged children in a
locality of Mumbai. Through
JAMM’s, Ritu is trying to mobilize
educated women in providing and
aiding empowerment of the society in
small but effective ways. As a part of
another impactful and compassionate
social cause, JAMM’s partnered with
IContribute and rolled out an I-Light
campaign to donate white canes and
dark glasses and complimentary eye
checkups for 550 visually impaired
persons.
JAMM’s has completed a year and
a half and is poised for greater
heights. The leaders at JAMM’s use
social media as their eyes and ears,
believe that it is individuals, who
have the power to turn the media to
be a boon or bane. A champion of
work life balance, good quality of
life, productive use of time and power
of networking, Ritu Gorai has
radicalized the way people view
women’s groups on social
platforms.
JAMM’s was nominated for the
‘Manthan Award’ in recognition of
their impact and effort as digital
innovators for social empowerment.
The group has been gaining name
and fame for its exemplary work.
For those who thought that social
media and apps were just for
vacuous forwards and repeated
jokes, here is a lady who has turned
this into a positive platform and
made a difference to the lives of
thousands of mothers.
