the business challenges we anticipate will need
addressing in the future. These are:

• Access to Cars - we're interested in exploring
new business partnerships that can transform how
we can utilise existing vehicle fleets to enhance
ownership, usage propositions and customer
retention activities
• Data Driven Decisions - Data is key when
making decisions about a product or purchase. We’re
looking for solutions that improve transparency and
visualisation of data, accelerating decision making
for both supplier and customers
• Used Cars - We want to explore how new
technologies can open up our products to the wider
used car market, attracting younger customers and
add to everyone's bottom line
• Digitising the Customer Journey - Our
lives are becoming increasingly influenced by
digital processes. We’re looking for solutions
that introduce more streamlined, intuitive online
journeys with the potential to capture more of the
finance supported car buying market
• FinTech Wildcard - the way people engage
with their automotive finance and insurance
providers is changing. We want to hear from the
technologists and entrepreneurs who are leading
this transformation
We've all seen industries rapidly change due to
technology. Every business today needs to opt into
the new Digital Economy.
It is with this belief that BMW Group Financial Services
has launched its first ever Innovation Lab in the
UK - the first of its kind for the automotive financial
service sector.
Our Innovation Lab will take five incredible tech start ups chosen by us
on a 10 week journey that will give them unprecedented access to BMW
Group Financial Services support to drive innovation in the automotive
finance space and help fast track the growth of their business.
Run in partnership with L Marks, a corporate innovation specialist and
investment fund, our Innovation Lab has been developed to attract
young companies with disruptive technologies that can be used to
speed up development of new financial services products and bring
them to market faster.
For us, the Innovation Lab is about helping start
ups create game changing products for the
automotive finance market. You’ll be working to
rapidly develop your product, receiving essential
guidance on key decisions in real time from your
mentors. Aside from this core focus, you’ll also
attend enlightening talks and workshops from a
plethora of exceptional visitors.
We like to think we're offering something different
to other accelerators out there. The Innovation
Lab is a programme of development that focuses
on building a strong relationship between a start
up and BMW Group Financial Services as well as
helping businesses achieve the next stage of
growth. The Innovation Lab will offer start ups
access to investment, desk space, internal as well
as acclaimed external mentors and expertise at BMW
Group Financial Services’ UK head office.
For us, collaboration with the next generation of
technology talent is key to the success of the The
Innovation Lab. It provides a great opportunity for
us to get a different perspective on our business
and generate new ideas more quickly. It is a very
different approach, one that is industry-leading, and
one which will allow us to explore customer-focused
initiatives from young, energetic and talented small
companies while at the same time offering them the
chance to gain exposure to a range of experienced
mentors and potential investors.
