As of January 2016, Hempfield residents have curbside collection of electronics
and household hazardous waste through Advanced Disposal (call Advanced Disposal at 1-800-437-1759 to schedule a
pick-up). In addition to this service, keep in mind our Recycling Center remains available to serve you.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) can only be
accepted on special collection days as Recycling Center
employees are not legally permitted to handle HHW at
any time. As such we are partnering with ECS&R to conduct HHW events
at our Recycling Center. If you are familiar with our HHW collections, this
new Program will run a bit differently than those previously held.
Saturday November 19th from 9am-1pm at the Recycling Center
Event Registration: Pre-registration is required; no walk-ins will be accepted.

time to minimize lines and waiting

Cost: A disposal fee will be charged to all participants, on a per-pound
basis, payable at the event (cash, checks, debit/credit cards).
Cost will be:
l $.75/pound for general public
l $.65/pound for Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling members
(existing members only; memberships will not be sold on day of
collection)
Household Chemicals include oil based/latex paint, deck stains, flammable
liquids, drain cleaners, pool chemicals, fertilizers, antifreeze/automotive
fluids, putties, adhesives, glues, wood/metal finishing products,
water sealers, household cleaning agents, herbicides/pesticides. For
questions about acceptable material, ask ESC&R when registering.
