lines. The approach adopted by Providence
Water demonstrates the effectiveness of a
comprehensive, well planned condition assessment
and pipeline repair and rehabilitation
program. The success of this approach
is reinforced by the fact that no further
breaks have occurred on the system. The
programmatic and proactive management
approach undertaken by Providence Water
can serve as a model for other utilities facing
similar challenges that are looking for costeffective
approaches to manage their critical
infrastructure.
