Halloween Happenings
Fox 25 Visits Norwood
Town Common in August

Halloween in Norwood has
become a grand spooktacular
month! During October,
there are many children, teen,
adult and family events offered
throughout town, from hairraising
parties to decorating contests
to communal trick or treat
festivals. So dig out those scary,
creepy and chilling decorations
and costumes and join in the fun
in true Norwood fashion!
Halloween Costume
Swap
The Annual Norwood Halloween
Costume Swap is offered
for residents who want to encourage
a GREEN Halloween.
Bring your child's gently worn
Halloween costume on or before
October 21 and return Saturday,
October 22, 3:30-5 p.m., to pick
out a donated costume for this
Halloween! For ages infant-8
years old.
Monster Cupcake Decoration
Go crazy decorating spooky
cupcakes! They can have swirly
eyes or ghoulish teeth, there's not
limit on what to create!
Thursday, October 20, 3:30-
4:30 p.m., in the Civic Center.
Cost is $5/Norwood residents,
$10/non-residents. Register
with recreation code HS29.
Pumpkinfest
The ever-popular Pumpkinfest
is returning this year and
participants of all ages will enjoy
the opportunity to decorate their
pumpkins in extraordinary and
unusual designs. All materials
needed to create extraordinary
pumpkins will be provided, such
as hair, hats, glitter and paint.
There is staff available to assist
younger artists.
Thursday, October 27, 3:30-
5:30 p.m., in the Civic Center.
Cost is $5/Norwood residents,
$10/non-residents. Register
with recreation code HS28.
Halloween Spooktacular
This event will play with
the lighter side of the celebrations
with themed games, crafts,
music, dancing, refreshments
and more. In addition, participants
are encouraged to enhance
their Halloween spirit by
wearing costumes and joining
the costume parade. This event
is intended for ages 3-8 years old.
Friday, October 21, 6- 7:30
p.m., Civic Center gymnasium.
Cost is $5/Norwood residents,
$10/non-residents. Register with
recreation code HS23. Signing
up early is recommended.
Halloween Trunk or
Treat
Decorate your cars and bring
candy to hand out in the municipal
parking lot for Norwood's
5th Annual Trunk or Treat!
Children will be welcome to go
from vehicle to vehicle in their
costumes collecting Halloween
treats. Cars may enter the lot
from 3-4 p.m. to set up for the
event.
Can't attend? Donations of
wrapped candy are welcome for
the event.
Saturday, October 29, 4-5
p.m.
Halloween Home Decorating
Contest
Spread the fall holiday cheer
for all of Norwood to enjoy!
Judging will take place three
days before Halloween. To register
for the spookiest house in
Norwood, contact the recreation
department at 761-762-0466 or
