ARTS <strong>and</strong> ENTERTAINMENT<br />
If you are looking for a little culture<br />

The Center for the Arts st<strong>and</strong>s<br />
prominently at the front <strong>of</strong> <strong>Russellville</strong><br />
High School <strong>and</strong> has welcomed<br />
thous<strong>and</strong>s <strong>of</strong> visitors since it’s opening<br />
in 2012. The 130,000 square foot<br />
facility was a dream <strong>of</strong> <strong>Russellville</strong><br />
School District to have a performing<br />
arts center to exp<strong>and</strong> educational<br />
<strong>and</strong> cultural resources for students<br />
<strong>and</strong> the community. With a 1,875 seat<br />
performance space, the multi-purpose<br />
Center is home to district events<br />
including b<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> choir concerts,<br />
theatrical <strong>and</strong> musical productions, art<br />
shows as well as various other school<br />
related programs. The Center is also<br />
ideal for individuals, organizations<br />
<strong>and</strong> performers seeking a venue for<br />
graduation ceremonies, business<br />
meetings, music concerts, dance<br />
recitals, workshops <strong>and</strong> other events.<br />
Blending state-<strong>of</strong>-the-art technology<br />
along with a creative design, The<br />
Center theatre is equipped with<br />
superior acoustic quality, including<br />
the best in Yamaha digital sound<br />
equipment <strong>and</strong> the latest in projection<br />
<strong>and</strong> lighting technology to support a<br />
variety <strong>of</strong> performers <strong>and</strong> audiences.<br />
In addition, the Center has a 150 seat<br />
Black Box theatre, a technical theatre<br />
classroom, multiple dressing rooms<br />

scene shop <strong>and</strong> art gallery.<br />

The River Valley Arts Center sponsors<br />
art exhibits, concerts <strong>and</strong> plays <strong>and</strong><br />
other cultural activities. The Arts Center<br />
has a gallery with new exhibits monthly.<br />
Gallery admittance is free to the public.<br />
Annual shows include Collegiate<br />
Competition open to any college<br />
student in the state, a statewide High<br />
School Competition, <strong>and</strong> local artist<br />
exhibit. Other exhibits are from area,<br />
state <strong>and</strong> nationally renowned artists.<br />
The Arts Center produces a summer<br />
musical <strong>and</strong> fall play featuring local<br />
talent. Another summer program<br />
<strong>of</strong>fered by the Arts Center is Summer<br />
Arts Camps. Through this program,<br />
children enjoy a day camp setting,<br />
immersed in a variety <strong>of</strong> art forms led<br />
