Nautical influence: an outstanding, circa 1900 Sterling silver tankard of<br />
maritime origin, the main body of ‘barrel’ form, the front and sides with applied<br />
naval motifs and seashells, with a handle of ‘rope’ form and plain finial to the lid.<br />
The vessel inscribed ‘Governor Foster Furcolo, January 3, 1957 in Friendship,<br />
Harry S. and Vivian B. Spectre’.<br />
Marked STERLING to the base, with Boston maker’s marks Bigelow Kennard<br />
and Co. Height overall: 10 inches (26 cms). American, circa 1900. Ref 4876<br />
