Swaffham & Litcham Home Hospice
It was gratifying to learn that the TSB here in
Swaffham have chosen the Home Hospice as their
Charity for 2016/17. The bank ran a survey with their
customers asking who they would like to see benefit
from their charity efforts over the year and we were
lucky enough to be named. They are planning to
stage events throughout the year and already they
have completed a 23mile bicycle ride within three
weeks of us being notified of their intentions. Those
who rode amassed a total in excess of £500.00, and
we must thank all those customers who donated
towards the event too.
As we draw closer to December, just a timely reminder
of the Tree of Lights at the Green Britain Centre on
December 5th at 6.30pm, more information will be
announced in December’s edition of the Newsletter.
Our next fundraising event will be the annual
Christmas Draw in November and once again Tesco
have allowed us to sell tickets in the entrance of the
Store, so please support us. Tickets are available
at Jill’s Hairdressers in Station Street and our Main
Office. We will be having a stall on Swaffham Market
on the 26th November too. The draw will take place
at Tesco on the 3rd December.
The Charity has been chosen to oversee one of the
Snowdrop Walk events on the 12th February 2017
at Lexham Hall, of course early days as yet but worth
mentioning to you as we will be seeking your support
in assisting us to bake cakes for us. It is a very popular
and well supported event and will be advertised
throughout Norfolk.

Our third Concert of Choirs was once again a sell-out
evening, which was well received with an appreciable
audience who enjoyed a varied programme sung and
entertained by the RAF Marham Military Wives Choir
(The Bluebirds) and the King’s Lynn Male Voice Choir.
Both choirs came together at the end and sang a
rendition of Amazing Grace followed by a standing
ovation from the audience. The total raised was a
phenomenal £1161.00.
The first one in the world open for the
public to climb. Follow our eco trail around
our heritage orchard and organic gardens
and enjoy Fairtrade coffee and homemade
cake from our vegetarian café.

Katarina Sell from Boots Pharmacy decided she would
like to raise funds for the Home Hospice by dressing
up for a week in a different costume at work each day,
and by doing so she raised a total of £500.00. This
is being match funded by Boots to £1000.00. Huge
thanks go to the generous customers who supported
her during this time and of course Boots.
