OLSENS

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were born on June
13, 1986 in Sherman Oaks, California. Before the
Olsen twins embarked on their fashion endeavors
they were well known for their acting careers.
Their acting debut as Michelle Tanner on Full
House made the Olsen twins famous before they
were even talking. Throughout their adolescent
years, the twins continued acting in numerous
films, eventually taking over and owning their
own company Dualstar when they turned
eighteen. Despite their similarities in appearance,
they are not identical twins. However, their
similar interest in the fashion industry led them
to where they are today.
As the Olsen twins matured, they expressed a
greater interest in fashion rather than film and
began conveying this love of fashion through
their own personal styles. The Olsen twins soon
became fashion icons, especially Mary-Kate with
her signature “homeless” look which consisted of
oversized sunglasses, boots, loose sweaters and
flowing skirts, mixing high and low end pieces.
