With the newest branch of the renowned Curtain Exchange now
open in Moulton, we couldn’t wait to pay them a visit!
It all began with two friends, £500 each,
a small Suffolk shop and a big idea. In the
25 years since, The Curtain Exchange
has firmly established itself as one of the
premier window dressers in the country.
From its flagship office in London, to
Suffolk, Essex and Yorkshire, the retailer
has a list of branches across England, the
newest of which has recently opened in the
picturesque village of Moulton, just outside
Newmarket.
The business offers a wide selection
of second-hand curtains, along with
handmade, lined and interlined curtains
in silk, linen and cotton from its own
range, and a wide selection of designers.
It’s not just curtains; you can also find
Roman blinds, poles and a wide variety of
accessories to add those all-important
finishing touches.
The business prides itself on superior quality
at an affordable price. Its unique selling
position means that it can sell at below cost
price, but it maintains the highest levels
of customer service. “Beautiful interlined
curtains cost on average a third of the
original price,” says Joanne King, one of the
owners of the Moulton branch. “If they’re
unsure, customers can try the curtains at
home before they buy,” she continues.
In fact, every aspect of the business is
built around creating the best possible
customer experience. After all, your choice
of curtains is a huge aspect of your home’s
interior design, and therefore needs to be a
stress-free process! “The Curtain Exchange
has a shop full of curtains hanging and
ready to go, so customers can see volume
and judge how a fabric looks when made
up,” says Joanne. “We also provide a
made-to-measure service for curtains and
Roman blinds.”
Even the Moulton location was chosen with
the customer in mind. “By not being in a
high street location, we have free parking
outside the shop at all times, which is handy
when a lot of our curtains are very heavy to
carry any distance,” Joanne explains.
“We hope 2017 will see the business
grow and The Curtain Exchange become
everyone’s first choice when looking for
curtains and blinds,” adds Joanne. And with
top-class fabrics, market-leading designers
and made-to-measure service all at a third
of the original price, it sounds like a
no-brainer to us!
